WHAT IT IS...

HorrorQuest Film Festival is an Independent film festival which will be held at The Landmark Midtown Arts Cinema, which is also the home of The Atlanta Film Festival, October 21st-27th ,2011, in Atlanta Georgia. The Goal of HorrorQuest is to provide a FREE festival with no entry fee or ticket prices.

Besides featuring a wide variety of Independent films such as, “Wilderness”, starring Lance Henriksen(Aliens, The Terminator), “Stained, starring Tinsel Korey(Twilight, Tin Man), “Schism”, starring Lynn Lowry(The Crazies, Cat People) and “The Speak”, starring Tom Sizemore(Saving Private Ryan, Black HawkDown). HorrorQuest will also feature a FREE live music event and after party on October 27, hosted by The Park Tavern, featuring the Atlanta band, “The Issues”.

THE IDEA...

The idea of HorrorQuest started when a friend, who is an Atlanta filmmaker, was telling me that the cost of submitting his short film to festivals was almost three times the budget of the film itself. We figured this had to be a problem many filmmakers faced and wanted to try and do something about. 

Because we want to make HorrorQuest FREE we need the help and support of people who love independent art and film.  We are hoping that with the help of Kickstarter we can one day make HorrorQuest the largest FREE film festival in the south-east.

By backing HorrorQuest you are making the statement that you support independent art. And for that sir, you deserve a reward! HorrorQuest is offering all kinds of swag including shirts, stickers, stainless-steel water bottles and hoodies! As well as something we don't think has been offered before... Advertising... HorrorQuest is going to have access to a bunch of people and a very big screen. Support us and we will feature an ad for your business, website or favorite charity before and after every movie screening.

WHY WE NEED FUNDING… 

While many small local shops and stores will be supporting HorrorQuest in various ways, we want to fund HorrorQuest without having to turn to BIG corporate sponsors, EVER! The money you help us raise will go towards HorrorQuest’s last two remaining obstacles!

• Theater space: While HorrorQuest has been able to finagle many things for free, this is our biggest expense and something we can’t overcome without help.

• Promotion: While most of HorrorQuest's promotion will cost nothing and will be done mostly over the internet, things like flyers, radio ads and posters cost money.

All excess funds will go to funding HorrorQuest next year...

THE FUTURE...

In the years to come we want to offer filmmaking classes to young adults and students, host more music performances, feature guests from the, “Horror” community and create interactive screening events that will be hosted by a local, "Haunted House" attraction.
