Hero Games (DOJ, Inc dba Hero Games) is the publisher of the HERO System, a generic roleplaying rules set that can be used to simulate many different genres. The HERO System has been in print since 1981.
Wierd Steven H, why would it be a bad thing to get the extra stuff in the printed book? It was free stuff provided as a bonus for reaching a higher goal, efectivly costing nothing to us, but granting bonus material.
I'm sorry you feel that way, Steven, but Hero Games has to make some decisions itself for reasons of logistics, timing, or other factors, and this was one of those.
I have to say I would have preferred that you discuss adding the extra information to the printed book with the backers before you took the decision to do.
thanks for the update! Looking forward to it
Yup, a Dropbox link went out a little earlier today. Options for those who prefer not to use Dropbox are still in the works, but I hope to have more info on that soon.
Received my copy of the book today via Dropbox and just wanted to say "Thanks!" I'm lookign forward to reading it thoroughly later. :)
Robert -- as a matter of fact we're getting ready to unleash the PDFs on you Real Soon Now. ;) I just got done sending out e-mails to the few folx who lack both Dropbox and herogames.com accounts, so we can figure out how to send them their PDFs.
Once everything's ready I'll send out another update, and you'll also see it announced on the Hero Games message boards.
Any new updates on the release of the pdf?
Keith -- I sent the credits to Fred to lay out earlier this week, so we're getting close to finalizing the PDF. I can't say for sure, but if all goes well I expect Hero may be able to start distributing it as early as next week.
I did the survey as well. What is the 'guestimate' date of sending us the PDFs once the method has been decided?
Finished the survey today. Cant wait to see the book.

Past the second GOAL!!!
Voot! Past 100%
Congratulations!! Looking forward to my copy.
Woot!
Thanx to everyone who's pledged so far for helping us reach our goal! Now it's time to think about some goodies we can give away to all y'all as part of shooting for a secondary goal. :)
"This project will be funded on Monday Jan 30, 12:00AM EST". :)
Just thought I drop by to see how things were going... Good grief!
Absolutely awesome that it's going this well, guys!
Yup. Three more Batalioneers would do it. Pretty likely that it'll happen in the next 3 weeks. :)
Denver -- yup, looks like we're closing in!
Chad -- thanx! We're pretty excited ourselves. ;)
Upped my bid...this is so exciting.
The light at the end of the tunnel is nigh ;)
I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of a secret power behind the throne. Move along, subject, nothing to see here.
WHOA! There IS a secret power behind the throne! The rumors are true!
Daniel -- I'm going to start posting some updates today, including art, and I'll see if I can include the whole cover. I'm not sure if it will fit size-wise, but it can't hurt to try. ;)
Steve, is there any place we could see more of the book's cover? The fraction showing at the start of the video has a cool Jack Kirby vibe, and I bet other fans would love to get the full effect.
Thanx Dave! I'll look into that.
Steve, I have used a really inexpensive Labtec desk mounted mic for years that works great. Also, you might monkey with your volume settings to make sure you have enough gain on the input.
I think that's the first time anyone's described me as soft-spoken. ;) Unfortunately I guess the mike on my laptop's not very good, or having to sit back so my entire head was in the frame played hob with things. If I have to do this again perhaps I'll have to buy a better microphone.
The audio on the video is painfully soft -- but excited to see this launch!
