ShameNoShame! is an unapologetic and ridiculous glimpse at sexuality and how we try to define and use it in our society.

What is the Project?

What is right? What is wrong? Why?  What molds do we, as women, endeavor to fit ourselves into in order to be sexy?  And what if the natural states of our appetites are somehow “unacceptable?" -  are there emotional and social consequences to our pleasure?

ShameNoShame! is an unapologetic and ridiculous glimpse at sexuality and how we try to define and use it in our society.

ShameNoShame! is a clown piece created by Harvey Rabbit and directed by Dan Griffiths (director.)  It will be performed at the Garage (975 Howard, SF) June 12th and 13th as part of the National Queer Arts Festival.

How does Kickstarter Work?

We set a fundraising goal to produce our show.

If we reach our goal by the deadline of June 3rd, 2011, we get all of the money pledged.

If we DON'T reach our goal by our deadline, even $1 under our goal- we don't get ANY of the pledged money.

So please help us reach our goal in any way you can.  Every dollar adds up!

Who are these People asking for Money?

Harvey Rabbit is an interdisciplinary performer and burlesque clown.  She has an MFA in Experimental Theatre and Clowning from New College of California and  has been building theatrical performances since 2000.  She was a resident artist for the 2007 CESTA Summer Festival in the Czech Republic and performed her one-woman show Madge’s Box in the 2008 SF Fringe Festival.  A diverse performer and artist, her themes revolve around identity, sexuality, gender and desire.  Her goal as a performer is to expose intimate moments, internal struggle, with breath and openness: to flip the self outward in search of a greater universality; to create awkward moments for herself and her audience, then allow them to morph into understanding and joy.

Dan GriffithsDan Griffiths is a performer, producer, director and educator who has been devising original work since1988. Dan has performed in over 45 states and 25 countries and is the Founder of KAPOOT CLOWN THEATER and the Director of CLOWNZERO a therapeutic clowning unit in residence at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. Dan holds an M.A. in Experimental Performance from New College of California and an M.F.A in Interdisciplinary Art from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Recently, Dan directed the World Premiere of The Miniature Housewife at The Kansas City International Fringe Festival and most recently directed the first ever, egg puppet theater play in the style of film noir, written by Thomas John Truman playing at The Lost Church in San Francisco.
