What We’re Doing

Thank you so much for considering to be a part of this milestone! Almost 20 years ago now, my grandmother left a small box of magic tricks under the Christmas tree.  At 9 years old, I could have never expected that simple gift to begin a journey that would take me literally, around the world, and eventually, to this moment.

For years now, audiences have been asking me questions like, “Where can I get a DVD of your live show?”  Then moments after finding out that one doesn’t exist, I hear “What?! How could you not have a DVD of your live show??”

The one that affects me the most is still, “Did someone record tonight’s show? My son, (or daughter, or mom, or cousin, or friend, etc.), couldn’t be here, and he really needed to experience your show, and your story. Please tell me someone recorded this so that I can find a way to share it with him!”

Okay…so, I’m aware. It’s past due. The good news is, it’s almost finished…but we need your help!

There are two reasons why I've waited so long to release a project like this:

1) Put simply: Timing. If I would have worked on this a moment sooner than I did, it wouldn’t have been what it was supposed to be.  God’s timing, it turns out, is perfect yet again.  (Isn’t it always?)  I had a specific vision for what I wanted to do and now it is finally the time to do it.

2) My vision for this project, to put it bluntly, costs a lot of money. I refuse to attach God’s name to anything I create that isn’t done with excellence and professionalism. I can’t imagine ever not giving something I do for Him, my absolute best. I’ve never been content with the idea of just a tour documentary, or just a magic show on film.  All of that has been done before.  I wanted to do something totally unique that has never been done before.

So, about 15 months ago, the opportunity finally came along.  With the help of an investor and a team of people who caught the vision for what I do, we were finally able to team up and get this project started.  And as you can tell from the trailer above, we’re well under way!  We’ve already filmed the entire project.  Both editing and the soundtrack are also well underway, and actually close to completion.  The best way I can think of to help you understand where we are is to use an analogy from another world:  Football.

Over a year ago, we finally got the ball.  Our vision was impeccably clear:  Endzone.  No settling for 3 points.  No field-goals.  So, we’ve fought and pushed our way 95 yards down the field.  And now we’re stuck.  We need your help getting a touchdown.

A very large amount of money has been invested in this project, because we believe in its ability to impact and change people’s perspective, and therefore, their lives.  But frankly, everyone’s out of money. We not only need to wrap up what we already have well underway, but in addition, investing up front in packaging, duplication, marketing, promotion, publicity, screenings, and a dozen more details that go along with releasing a project like this adds up to thousands and thousands of dollars that we don’t have.  So, we need your help getting this project across the finish line!

We don’t want to release this project at 95% completion, struggle to get it out there, all because we fizzled out at the end.  I don’t want to look back and think, “Well, it was almost what we envisioned.”  We want to keep our vision for what this could be intact, finish strong, and share with the world what we’ve worked so hard on over the past 15 months!  We’ve put together what we hope are some appealing incentives for everyone.  We hope you’ll partner with us on what will be, when finished, the first and only project of its kind!

To be honest, there are Christians that do not fully appreciate the value of using magic as a tool.  But, in the proper setting, a magician’s illusion can be the perfect example of how Life’s everyday deceptions can “detour” us from God – Revealing such deception is, of course, the purpose of my life… and this DVD.  That said, we’re in need of all the support we can get from those who “get it.”  If you watched the trailer and caught the vision, please, please get involved!

Thanks for anything you feel led to do to join our team!  I can’t wait to share the final product with you, and am looking forward to what God will do in and through it in the lives of those who watch and experience it!  There are millions of people trapped by deception.  My hope is that this DVD will serve as a tool that helps as many of them as possible discover the truth, the key that sets everyone free.

What’s in the Contributor Package?
Everyone who donates at least $100 will receive our Contributor Package. We are still adding to this package, but here is what we have confirmed so far. This will include the following:

Name in the credits + an autographed copy of the DVD, 2 weeks prior to release + digital download of original soundtrack + phone call from Harris

Can I Gift An Incentive?
YES! If you would like to donate to the project but give the reward to someone as a gift, go through all the normal process of making a donation in your name. For billing purposes, this action must be in your name. After our deadline, we will send a message to you on Kickstarter. (It will be forwarded to the email address you provided) We will request things like your mailing address, etc from you at that time. Please reply with all of the person’s information that is to receive the reward. We will make sure they are the person who receives the reward.

Where will this DVD project be available?
Still to be determined, but the plan is to get this DVD into a retail store near you! We are still working out some of those details, but in the meantime, once this DVD is completed, you can purchase online or by going to see Harris at a live show. Also, by donating at least $15 you will receive your own copy of this project as a part of this campaign.

How will Harris get my number?
A member of our team will contact all the people who have donated to request their phone number, assuming they have donated at a level warranting a phone call. If you have donated, you will get a message from us pretty soon. Please reply to us. We don’t bite, we love you all, and Harris really wants to thank you.

Once we cross our deadline, we will immediately begin manufacturing and completing incentives for everyone involved. You will get a message from us requesting information from you like your mailing address, etc. At that time, please reply to us as soon as possible so that we can complete your incentive.

Can I increase my pledge once it’s been made?
YES! Once you donate to our campaign, you may want to change your incentive reward to a different one, or increase your pledge amount. To do so, go to Kickstarter and sign in. If you go to our campaign page, the green “Back This Project” button has been replaced with a blue “Manage Your Donation” button. Click it and you can enter a new amount, or choose a new incentive.

What happens if the money isn’t raised in time? Unfortunately nothing. If our goal isn’t met before the deadline, no money changes hands and we don’t reach our goal. We want to avoid this scenario at all cost!

Can we exceed the goal?
YES! What an amazing problem to have. Kickstarter will allow as much money as is given before the deadline. Maybe that would mean a special promotional tour for Harris to come to a city near you, or more unique physical copy packaging. The possibilities are endless.

Is Harris III a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization?
Neither this endeavor nor Harris III is set up as a non-profit. Donations are raw gifts. Non-tax deductible.

If I donate, when can I redeem the incentive?
All incentives, big and small, will only happen if our goal is met. If we do meet our goal, immediately after our deadline we will start to manufacture and ship all physical merch directly to you. It will be our priority to schedule the more personal incentives as soon as possible. You will hear from us. (More on this as we get closer to our deadline)

Who does the money go to?
Every penny (minus the fees for Kickstarter’s involvement) will go directly to the overall budget, including promotions and marketing to help spread the word - i.e. Your money goes directly to the funding, promotion and marketing of this DVD.

$20,000 seems like a low number for a full scale DVD budget. Doesn’t it?
You are correct. Fortunately, there are still very important investors involved in this project. The $20,000 figure is the remaining balance of a larger total budget. Our goal is imperative to get this project over the finish line.
