Musicians Wanted: The Dudley Music Documentary
Musicians Wanted: The Dudley Music Documentary is the journey of Johnny Dudley. Dudley hits road searching for a band and others with like musical interests and aspirations. The film captures the highs and lows, acclaim and disappointment of the music business and wherever the story takes us.
Johnny Dudley will play five shows on the road in 10 days with a band assembled in each city. If no musicians can be secured for dates Dudley will be forced out of his comfort zone and be forced to play solo acoustic. This project not only tells the story of a career musician on the road but also the power of song and how music can connect total strangers to one another.
The How of Musicians Wanted
Dudley's band will be assembled through word of mouth and social media channels. Candidates will be secured days before the show where Johnny will meet and audition the musicians.
This is an interactive project. Video will be captured on Flip Cams, iPhones and other digital means and processed on the road, in the car or at campsite via MacBook Pro.
Photos, footage and video blogs will be posted daily plus we'll have an open message board on Convor.com where people can leave messages with tips for the road, good places to play or we can answer your questions. (Some tips or questions may be used as content for video blog posts.)
The final version of the 10 day tour will be edited and compiled into various installments and posted in entirety on a syndicated web-video channel and burned to DVD for our special Kickstarter rewards.
The Funding of Musicians Wanted
This is a community-funded project and we need your help to tell this story. Your funding will provide us with the means to make this project happen. No fancy meals, no hotel rooms - we will be sleeping in the car, couch surfing or camping for all 10 days. Your generous funding will make this project a reality as this is an important story to tell.
Musicians Wanted: Dudley Music Documentary isn't just about Johnny Dudley's quest to follow his passion - it's the story of every struggling musician and indie rock band on the road trying to make it happen.
(Please NOTE: Musicians Wanted: Dudley Music Documentary is the working title for this project. The official title may change upon the project's completion.)

The biggest reason to help fund this project is so we can tell this story. The story of the struggling independent musician who is trying to make it. We are prepared to tell the story of the successes and failures of Johnny Dudley however the story unfolds.

We would love to have your band get involved and there are many ways for this to happen. You could have Dudley and his band opening up for you in one of our designated cities. Your band could in fact be Johnny's backing band for the night. Or you can help spread the word of this project to your fans through your Facebook page or email list.
Anyway you choose to help, we will make sure you receive proper attribution in the production and in all digital media releases.
