Younger is seeking to make a record that speaks for itself.

Featuring members of Blood and Water, I Am Empire, Stickup Kid, and My Former Self, Younger represents a group of individuals who've dedicated their lives to navigating the music industry. Ultimately, the band aims to create a record that represents the highest standard of quality, by working with a team of world-renowned engineers and producers.

  • Tracking the album with legendary rock producer, Steve Albini @ Electrical Audio in Chicago, IL. Steve Albini is the mastermind and producer behind iconic bands like Nirvana, The Pixies, and Bush. Steve has also worked with bands like Cheap Trick, PJ Harvey, The Jesus Lizard and many more. Albini tracks all projects on analog, 2" tape.
  • Mastering the album with Bob Ludwig @ Gateway Mastering in Portland, Maine. Bob has worked with everyone. Jimi Hendrix, Queen, Nirvana, The Rolling Stones, Radiohead, Foo Fighters, Taylor Swift, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Coldplay, etc. Mr. Ludwig is one of the premiere mastering engineers in the music industry; world-renowned for his skill.

The current "funding goal" for this project will help us cover all of the recording/mastering costs, accounting for the heavy taxing done on these projects by the government. However, this "goal" does not include mixing...which is arguably the most important part! We excluded this cost because we are still negotiating prices with several engineers, which may end up being an additionally large chunk of money, as well. Therefore, feel free to continue pledging -even after the goal has been met! All pledges after $35,000 go directly to covering the mixing costs!

*All supporters of the project will receive access to a series of demos -allowing backers to hear what we're working on, as we're working on it.

A Note from Brad:
"For as cliché as it may be in this day and digital age, we are doing a Kickstarter. This isn't, however, something we've decided to slap together as a desperate last measure to raise some cash. Rather, we've decided to launch this campaign as a way to give our friends, family and supporters an avenue through which they can be a part of the creative process.

The process of making a record encompasses far more than what you receive after peeling the plastic wrap and annoying sticky-seal from a jewel case. So much of today's music is about momentary digestion, or how "catchy" a song is within the first 30 seconds. More often than not, the heart and soul of the music falls on impatient ears, eager to skip to the next track. Sadly, it's a testament to a burnt-out audience, over-saturated with commercial marketing schemes, absurdly high ticket prices, and financial abuse. People are tired of the "old way" of doing things.

So, why not start from scratch?
Why not start with something genuine and authentic -allowing the rest to fall into place? By backing this project, you're taking a seat behind the wheel. You're acknowledging that there's more to music than 1's and 0's, and are choosing to be more than just a consumer.

We don't believe in begging, or a "free ride". Anything you decide to pay will be treated as a purchase, and rewarded. If you're interested in being a part of creating this project, take a look at our incentives. If they aren't appealing, feel free to email us and make an offer. Personally, I believe this to be the most exciting project I've ever been a part of, and want to give others the chance to share in the experience -to any extent."

As noted by other Kickstarter projects, we will only receive the funding if our goal is met by the designated deadline. The earlier you donate to the project, the better! Any support is appreciated. If you have any questions regarding rewards, our goal, our extended-cost breakdown...or really anything for that matter, feel free to reach out at: milkcartonmg@gmail.com
