Two people mourn the death of their unfamiliar coworker when they avoid group counseling and play radio trivia games
THE RADIO GAMERS
Two people, Lee and Viv, mourn the death of their unfamiliar coworker Max when they ditch group counseling and play radio trivia games.
Help us tell this quirky story about how these two individuals deal with the death of a colleague they have worked with for years but know nothing about.
Typical traditional office setting and a unique radio station with a twist.
This is the story from the warped mind of Writer / Director, Gretchen Olivero
Well, this short film takes place when MAX (played by Zacapa) has died in the office but our leads LEE (played by Kelly) and VIV (played by Olivero), learn a little bit about him when they individually ditch group counseling and hang out in his cubicle. They discover Max's passion for radio trivia at work by winning a contest using his music history archive. Lee has been unhappily coasting through his life and job but this experience becomes a wake up call. A shaken Viv reflects on entering motherhood. The two find hope and inspiration in an odd way from being in his shoes for a day.
We are really looking forward to Gretchen's final short narrative film before moving onto her feature film debut. We have a wonderful cast starring Mark Kelly, Daniel Zacapa, Gretchen Olivero, Chuck Phelps, and Leigh Wolf set for production in this early September.
We have a wonderfully talented crew and here are some of the key positions on board.
Director of Photography: Michael Epple
Michael is a fabulous and talented cinematographer who has done numerous short films and commercials shot on the red epic camera.
Art Director: Garrett Lowe
Garrett is a creative artistic genius and created a wonderfully believable world on set. I could not be more happy to have him on board.
Location Sound Mixer: Darcel Walker
Darcel is a very talented sound mixer who had just wrapped Forest Whitaker's film Fruitvale before coming on board The Radio Gamers.
Film Editor: Joi Mcmillon
Joi came on board as our film editor and we could not be more happy. Joi's resume includes many fabulous feature films like Talk to Me as assistant editor. Check it out below.
We have our cast and crew in place but there are many costs that go along with making a short film. We need to pay for things like Crew (people at work), equipment, insurance, location fees, art department, cast, feeding the cast and crew, props, post production and music. We are filming on the red epic camera. We need a minimum of $5000.00 for production but with post-production and film festival expenses it will most likely be more like $10,000 over time.
We will have music in the film. After all, it's somewhat about radio trivia. We are very fortunate that we have some very talented musicians on board. Our cast member, Pascal Fairve's band, "Static People" have agreed to showcase their music and will most likely be in the film along with "Tyler Buell's" music as well.
