WHAT WE DID: Made a relevant feature-length music documentary called Holler and the Moan. Holler and the Moan is a music documentary about an artist struggling with the circumstances of the post-Napster music world. For the film, Greg W. Locke followed singer/songwriter Lee Miles around for the better part of a year, during which he experienced a series of obstacles both personal and artistic.
WHAT WE WANT TO DO: The film is done; now we want to get it out of town and share Fort Wayne's arts community with the world. We want as many people to see the movie as possible.
HOW WE PLAN TO DO IT: Every dollar we raise here goes directly towards entering as many film festivals as possible. Most worthwhile films are entered into hundreds of festivals and only accepted to a small fraction. We plan to be careful with out entering with a goal to make it into at least a few. Once the film makes it into a festival, all sorts of doors open.
WHAT THE MONEY IS FOR: Every dollar you give goes towards getting the film entered into festivals. Fees are usually between $50-$100 per festival, and that's just to submit. We would like to submit to at least 30 films, with hopes to get accepted to a couple.
ALSO: All compensation will be either delivered or mailed to our contributors once festival runs are over. We unfortunately can't distribute any DVDs before that time.
