Filmmakers Gregory Bayne & J. Reuben Appelman are taking their decisively indie film PERSON OF INTEREST off the grid, and on the road.
We have secured some screening dates!
We will be screening in Los Angeles at the Downtown Independent Theater as part of the Cinefist Screening Series (http://cinefist.com/screenings/) on Thursday, August 5th.
We are also close to locking in a date for our screening with the Annapolis Pretentious Film Society in Maryland (July), our screening at Tampa University (September), and our hometown screening in Boise, Idaho.
Additionally we are working on securing venues and dates for Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and New York, and looking into options in Austin, Albuquerque, and Montana.
More to come! Thank you for your kind support! ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Immediately after finishing work on our feature film, PERSON OF INTEREST, we released it for free online for a limited time. 2 weeks later we were riding an unexpected high of glowing reviews (some of which you can find here: http://bit.ly/bEocI2), and invites to screen the film around the country. We have launched this campaign so that we are able to take advantage of these invites. The basic idea is to build a small summer/fall tour schedule, playing one night screening events in venues large and small, building a community around the film. And we need your help to do it. Through the successful completion of this campaign we will be able to sure up the invites we have now, add additional dates and venues to our tour schedule, cover our travel, and produce our DVDs for the film. In seeking your support of this endeavor, we are fully aware that there are many wonderful and worthwhile causes that deserve your time, money and support. We ask for you to join with us in the belief that art, and especially film, can still be a transformative experience, bringing people together, almost like nothing else, in shared exploration and exchange of ideas, philosophies and cultures. That is our hope for this film, and for the tour.
Read on for a synopsis of the film, links to additional clips, and information about the making of PERSON OF INTEREST.
With sincere appreciation,
FILM SYNOPSIS Terrance Dyer is a veteran of the war in Iraq, a self-proclaimed American Patriot and seasoned combat fighter, now living underground in the streets of Seattle, and fighting an equally hair-trigger battle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Led by an acute sense of paranoia, Terrance becomes convinced that the federal government is setting him up as the fall guy in a soon-to-be terrorist attack on American soil, yet his reactions to the paranoia unmistakably parallel that of a would-be terrorist. After finding connection with a young journalist looking to tell his story, Terrance sinks rapidly into a heightened sense of morality and betrayal leading him inevitably toward violence. At once controversial and definitive, vehemently proactive, and overwhelmingly relevant in a political climate charged with uncertainties, Person of Interest gives voice to a disenfranchised generation of soldiers, while bravely prodding at the seams of homegrown terrorism in the United States.
