About this project
EDIT: So I reached my goal in a week. Awesome. Now I'm shooting for twice this amount, so pledge if you want. Tell people if you want. Thanks for everyone who helped me reach this goal in the first place! And now back to our opening words, already in progress.
I want to write a book. I'm already doing that, but I want to have art included as well as get it professionally edited. Right now I'm unemployed, so money is a bit tight. Thus, I'm going to find backers to help me with this project.
That's where you fine folks come in.
The money will go towards paying the artists, the editing, and the publishing. I'll also include some special incentives, but you can find out more about that in the backer rewards section. For a sample of what to expect, writing wise, go check out The Species of Alone.
The more people who reserve a copy, the better the book will be. I'm not saying it'll be printed on gold, but I am saying if I get enough backers on this we might just go hardcover. How many backers? Let's say 600. A nice number, yes? Don't forget, you do NOT have to pay if the goal is not met, and if it is met, you don't have to pay until AFTER February 22nd!
At any rate I'm shooting for 30,000 words. It might be more, but it will most certainly not be less. People who back me will get exclusive sneak peeks of STUFF. Yes, STUFF.
What kind of stuff? Like the occasional Q&A! A super secret username on Googlechat that you can use to talk to me if you like the idea of talking to writers.
I warn you, though. I'm armed with weirdness and I'm not afraid to use it.
My deadline is February 22nd, 2010. I might finish it beforehand, but that's okay. I can always fill in the gaps with sneak peeks of things in the Deathless world...or for future projects.
