WHO AM I?

My name is Gospel Igwe (aka "gospel lee").  I am a progressive Hip-Hop artist and have been rapping for 10 years focusing on the creation of quality, positive, uplifting, encouraging, inspirational thought-provoking art that captivates the listener while compelling them to pause and ask real, meaningful, questions through my unique perspective (see videos below).

YOUVE ALREADY REACHED YOUR GOAL? WHY ARE YOU STILL FUNDRAISING???

 My Graphic Designer and recording/mixing engineer are professionals who drastically reduced/volunteered their abilities to keep the fundraising budget cost ($430) as low as possible.  My Graphic Designer created the cover photos/tshirt/banners/CD release flyer/twitter avatars/facebook profile pics for the kickstarter campaign IN ADDITION to the artwork for the album and has done so FOR FREE!  My audio engineer is recording/mixing/mastering this entire project for next to nothing.  Im hoping to raise $200 in additional funds so that I can give them closer to what they would normally charge for their efforts.  

 WHY IS THIS CAMPAIGN NEEDED?

I believe the messages delievered in my songs are so important that money (or lack of it) should not be an issue when it comes to sharing making my music available, so because of this my music is available on a free/donation basis (digitally).  I take this same approach to the live shows that I do.  Because this is my approach, much of the money that I need to sustain and continue supporting myself as an artist comes from the selling of merchandise (cds/tshirts) at these shows.  They are how I pay for instrumentals, recording time, mixing & mastering, and fuel/transportation costs to travel and do shows.  The $430 dollars raised from this campaign will go to the pressing and manufacturing of physical CD copies of my new album which I will make available at live shows.  This campaign is needed because the physical CDs produced from it will ensure that I can continue to offer free digital music and do shows for free/next to nothing.  

WHAT I NEED/WHAT YOU GET

I have 5 reward levels ranging from $1-75 dollars.  Details in the "pledge" section on the right.  

The editing of the live cd will take place in September and will be available as soon as possible. The exclusive song is set to be recorded in August.  The t-shirts will be printed in August and will be completed as quick as possible with the release date ranging from late August to early/mid September. These times are an approximation and depend on the availability/accessibility of the recording engineers/screenprinters I work with. The copies of the new album will be available in August.  

OTHER WAYS TO HELP

While monatary support is desired there are other meaningful ways to help.
