Who is Good River Brewing Company?

Good River Brewing Company is a venture started with three friends and our wives, who all share a passion for great food, good conversation, and craft beer. We will offer our customers fresh farm to table food, hand crafted beers, and a unique, family dining experience that is currently unavailable in our community.

Once open, Good River Brewing Company will be the only Brewpub in Lorain County, Ohio.  We will be offering a steady lineup of year round beers and a myriad of seasonal special releases to please everyone's unique palate.  Initially, we will be serving our beer in house and offering beer to go in 32 and 64 ounce growlers, and long term, we will be canning our flagship beers.  Our chef will be creating a menu that will evolve frequently to reflect seasonal availability, all the while supporting small family farms and local food artisans that share our strong belief in sustainable agriculture. 

Good River Brewing Company will be a strong supporter of our community as well; donating all of our spent grain from the brewing process to our local farmers, providing a venue for local musicians and artists, an inviting meeting spot for businesses, and a unique facility for public and private events.

Good question.  Kickstarter is an innovative way to fund creative projects powered by a unique all-or-nothing funding method in which projects must be fully-pledged, or no money changes hands. In return for your commitment, you get some cool stuff from us!  Every little bit helps us out, and every little bit gets you something in return, check the sidebar on the right to see the various donation levels.

Why should I help you? 

We have a strong product in our beer, created and brewed by an award winning brewer and arguably one of the best chefs in Ohio creating our food.  Combined, we have over 40 years in the restaurant business and have a very solid business plan.  We are passionate about food, hand crafted beers, serving the people in our community and surrounding areas, as well as providing a product that is not available anywhere else in Ohio.  We truly believe in each other, our community, and want Good River Brewing Company to be a place that guests and their families can call their own. 

Where does the money go? 

After looking at existing structures for six months, it was decided that in order to give the customers the dining experience that we envision, we needed to design and build a structure from the ground up. As you know, designing and building a brewpub is not cheap, and although we have a nice chunk of change to get us started, we still need a bit more.  This money will be used to pay for permits and fees to the State of Ohio and the federal Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, architects, lawyers, accountants, brewing equipment, kegs, and the like.  We already have the land secured and are very excited about our location, it is perfect for what we want to do.
