Wow, great. I'm so thrilled to have now received The Manual! It suffered slight damage in the voyage here to Australia, it's corners a little rounder than they should be, but overall I'm very happy, love the little gifts too, beautifully tactile in an age of digital vapour and plastic.
My copy has been delivered today, can't wait to read!
Got my copy in the mail after having been out of town for two weeks. Having read some of it already, I feel deeply moved; atypical for writing in the web design world. Keep up the good work.
I'm curious about purchasing future editions of The Manual. Will this process be handled through your website? Also, will you be offering in the future more subscriptions? I found it unfortunate that I missed the chance for that opportunity but I'm hopeful for something to appear in the future!
Keep up the great work!!
Thanks for the quick reply!
Rogier, shouldn't be. If it doesn't arrive by the end of the week, email me: andy@fiction.co. Cheers!
I have yet to receive my copy of The Manual, it seems like most people have by now already received it. Do you happen to know if there are any problems with shipping to the Netherlands?
You'll be able to do that yourself when the new website launches. We'll email all subscribers to make sure their address details are up to date pre-shipping, don't worry!
Great work on The Manual! Lovely job. One question though. I have just moved and will need to update my shipping address for the next one. How do I handle this?
Received my Manual today thanks. Excellent work chaps!
I was wonder about the 'set' of badges. There only seemed to be one?
And where did you get them made? They are rather lovely.
Thanks
Mr Bootle
have you collected shipping information yet? sorry if i'm redundant, but i can't tell if that info has been gathered yet.
@Roger Will be posting a major update soon, it all got a little intense but it's off to the printer today.
Any updates lately?
Awesome Andy. I'm really looking forward to it!
@Liam @Charlie Yep, it's right—more detail here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/goodonpaper/the-manual/posts/53297
@Irwin Yeah, we'll be collecting your shipping information after the Kickstarter project concludes, don't worry.
Is there a way to supply a shipping address? Amazon doesn't give me that option and I don't want it shipped to my billing address. Looking forward to reading the magazine.
I had the same problem Liam. It actually says 'You Have Authorized a Payment to Frank Chimero' in the confirmation email?!
Scratch that, I guess it must be right - I just tested another project and it wasn't sending money to Frank. Don't mind me, I just didn't want to send money to the wrong guy :)
Hey, just a query - when I go to make my payment to back this project the Amazon summary says "Pay to Frank Chimero via kickstarter" - now I know of Frank (I backed his project on kickstarter) but I was unsure if this was correct for this project (I would expect it to say Andy McMillan), or is Amazon payments was messing it up? Let me know, I'm keen to back this!
@Charlie — Yes, the cover will be different but the content will be the same. There's a little more detail on this in the Designing the Artifact update we posted a few weeks back.
Is it just a different cover with the special edition? The content will be the same?
Great job on getting this project funded. It will be a big step for the design community.
Congrats, we did it!
With 13 days to go it's looking very good! Hopefully you can raise the last 4k and get this bad boy on the road! Great work Andy and your team of helpers.
Right now, we're working that each issue will continue to cost £15 / $25, which includes international shipping.
hey just wondering, when you get the pledged amount, will the publication be sold overseas (uk) as well? and do you have a rough idea of how much each issue will cost?
Keep 'er lit Andy! I look forward to taking 'The Manual' out on a nice romantic date - and then never calling it back! That may sound harsh, but it's for the best...
You mean Amazon.COM presumably? OK, I'll try that.
@Val If you set yourself up as a new customer with Amazon you can choose a non-US address after the credit card info
I like to get my paws on a copy, or just chuck in some cash, but Amazon Payments do not appear to operate outside the US. So what do I do?
Andy, you rock. This rocks. Best of luck, and thank you for this.
Can't wait to get my hands on a copy. Best of luck with the funding. Looks like you are off to a flying start.
Looking forward to reading this if you get funded. Best of luck, Andy!
Can't wait to see this. Does this mean I get the "early Build ticket" copy and my super limited Kickstarter copy to keep in a bag and never be touched?
Good luck Andy — this is just what our industry needs
