In 2009, Jeremy completed his debut film, DIVE!, Living Off America’s Waste. Initially made with a $200 budget, a borrowed camera, and a lot of heart, time and dedication, DIVE! has since gone on to win at 21 film festivals worldwide and even screened at the U.S. Capitol in Washington DC. The current change.org petition, "Tell Trader Joe's to Stop Wasting Food," has been featured in many major online publications and has garnered the support of nearly 75,000 people and growing daily.
Following his love of the arts, and his desire to awaken and inspire people, he found his calling and began working for a nonprofit organization, The San Damiano Foundation (SDF), which made documentaries shedding light on the urgent issues of poverty, hunger, and human rights. While with SDF, Jeremy worked as an associate producer, photographer, and videographer on numerous films and traveled all over the world.
This GMO Film Project is Jeremy's second major documentary and is in the beginning stages of production. Aside from working on this film, Jeremy travels the country with DIVE!, speaking about the interrelated issues of food waste, hunger, and the environment.
When Jeremy isn’t pulling food out of dumpsters or filming, he spends his time gardening and raising urban chickens with his wife, Jennifer, and three children, Finn (5), Tennessee (3), and Pearl (1).
Producer Joshua Kunau (DIVE!) brings an immense amount of energy, passion, and devotion to the filmmaking process. His ability to bring people together around an issue and call forth the strengths and abilities of others are vital to the scope of this project and the many players it involves. This vital skill combined with his relentless determination to see things through to the end and to their very best outcome will ensure the success of this project.
Josh has an undergraduate degree in psychology and is a practicing lawyer in Denver, Colorado, but is currently focusing his time on producing this film and on activism around food related issues.

I'm looking forward to the release of your film and can't wait to share it with my children, ages 6 and 4. Don't know about my 4yo, but I think my 6yo gets it. At dinner the other night he said, "Mommy, either my friends' parents don't know about GMO's or they don't care about them." I told him I don't think they know about GMO's to which he replied, "Then we should tell them." I have a feeling my son will want to show this film to all of his friends.

This is a story with global reach. It's so very important that people have a say in what they eat. This is about freedom at its most fundamental level! Everyone has to eat and if the body is a personal temple, then one must be able to keep it as clean one wishes (i.e. knowing exactly what's being put into it)! I hope that some of my facebook and twitter followers jump on board and help get this funded for you! ...and ditto to Don Vale's comment; "Films like this can change the world.....may the force be with you." <:)
