I hope you enjoyed my video!  I am not much of a videographer, but I did my best!!  I've provided some background info and answered a few questions below, and please don't forget to check out all of the rewards listed on the right side of your screen!   Also, before you read any further, I want to take a second to thank you in advance for being a part of this- if there's ever a time I've really needed your support, it is right now.

So... who is Gary Johnson?

At the age of 16, I was selected as a studio and live guitarist/keyboardist for the legendary rock vocalist Fran Cosmo, who at the time was the lead singer of Boston.  After several years of playing sold out venues across the country and recording several discs (including a highly successful international release) with the group, I decided to embark on a new project utilizing some of the connections I had made while I was on the road.  It wasn't easy walking away from a gig where you get paid to travel all over the country playing "More Than a Feeling" in front of 25,000 screaming fans night after night, but it was time that I stood on my own two feet..... which ended up being the BEST decision I could have made. 

What's all this talk about The Fray, Seether and Breaking Benjamin?

As I'm sure you have read, my band consists of my great friends Kevin Soffera (former drummer of Seether/Breaking Benjamin) and Jimmy Stofer (former bassist of The Fray), who regardless of their resumes are amazing in their own right.   They were a huge part of making my debut album a huge success, and we're all super excited to take this disc to the next level. 

Frequently Asked Questions:

HOW DOES IT WORK?  You pledge by simply creating a Kickstarter account, and then entering your credit card number and the amount of your pledge.  The transaction is handled by Amazon.com, so it’s easy, safe and secure!!  Your card is NOT charged UNLESS the project is successfully funded at the end of the 45-day window.  So everyone contributes, or no one does—it’s all or nothing!

Why $7,000?  The actual budget is unfortunately closer to $10,000, but heeding some advice from a friend with Kickstarter experience, I figure we can aim low and shoot high!  The pledging doesn't stop once the $7,000 goal is met, so the more we can raise, the better product I can give you!  Most well-organized projects with worthy rewards far surpass their initial goal, so I'm hoping that will be the case here!

How will it be used?  This is the amount of money that it will take to upgrade my recording studio into the professional setup that will allow me to provide you the best product possible.  To deliver you a record of the quality that I'm seeking, this is a really reasonable amount... and whether or not it is through your pledges or with your help in spreading the word, we can absolutely do this!!

What will make this record better than the last?  I will be totally self-sufficient in the tracking process and will be able to make sure that everything that is going to tape is exactly what I want, not what I have to settle for because I'm out of time. I will be utilizing a larger studio to put the finishing touches on the project, a step that is absolutely imperative in making sure that the final product is up to its full potential.  Schedule permitting, this post-production will be done at GCR Recording Studios in Buffalo, NY, which was designed by the legendary John Storyk and is owned by Robby Takac and Johnny Rzeznik from the Goo Goo Dolls.  I have worked with the guys at GCR in the past and it has been an absolute pleasure.  More details on this will be coming soon!!
