Good things are in the works here at Jesus, Don't Let Me Die Before I've Had Sex! We have officially entered the editing phase on the documentary. Brittany is working on a script and Matt is pulling clips and creating sequences. Our goal is to have a rough version of the film ready by September in time to submit to film festivals.

If everything goes according to plan, we should have a finished version of the film by January. But, before we can hit that deadline we will need to raise the remainder of the funds to finish. Things like music composition, color correction, animation, and sound design will take us beyond our bank account. We will be looking for a variety of solutions to help bridge the gap (fundraisers, outside investors, car washes and selling our kidneys have all been discussed.)

We will be setting up a tip jar page where our fans and supporters can chip in toward our goal. Look for more info in the coming weeks.

But wait! There's more... Right now, we're building a YouTube channel to give you something to do until the movie comes out. Each week we will release two unique clips from our interviews--quotes from some of the biggest names in the field saying surprising, heartwarming, funny, and often insightful things. We here at Jesus, Don't Let Me Die Before I've Had Sex want to wish you a Happy New Year. These past 12 months were very memorable--thanks in part to you. We were able to succesfully kickstart our movie, which helped us traverse the country to interview over 60 people on the topic of sex and Christianity. While we still have a long way to go, we appreciate the support you have given us so far.

In the next few weeks, we will begin the editing phase to cull through the 100 hours of video we have captured. Even though we still have a handful of interviews remaining, it will be good to get started looking for threads and connections in the stories. It's a daunting, yet exciting task. Look for some bleary-eyed photo updates in the coming weeks!

Once we have a rough version of the movie, we will begin seeking finishing funds to help with the remainder of the post-production costs. It's our goal to hit the 2014 film festival circuit and we will work our tooshies off to reach that deadline.

And for those Kickstarter backers awaiting the art poster incentive, we are running behind on the design. We hope to have it printed and shipped by early March.

Finally, we want to wish you a wonderful New Year. We hope that it includes many blessings and much joy!

On March 14th, 2012 we completed our Kickstarter campaign. With your help we raised over $30,000. In June we embarked on a journey to spend that money, traveling to 15 states and interviewing over 60 people in the process. This is a sneak peek at what we shot.

Hello. Just a quick update to let you know an even bigger update will be coming soon. You might've heard that our car was broke in to during our Seattle trip last week and much of our gear was stolen. Fortunately, all the camera gear was in my hotel room and so all the footage was safe.  

We've been working with our insurance company to see how much of the equipment is covered. Hopefully we'll be back up and running in a week or two. But in the mean time we've been bogged down with trying to come up with all the necessary documents that the insurance is asking for. 

Now that we're back home for bit we're going to start churning out some of the incentives. This week will be our postcard writing party!

We hope to have some photos and video from the road up next week as well.
