GHP presents Percussion VII, the latest in our occasional series of concerts featuring composed music for percussion ensemble.
On July 30, 2011 at 8pm GHP presents Percussion VII at the ND at 501 Studios. The latest installment of one of our most popular series, Percussion VII features an amazing percussion ensemble consisting of Dr. Thomas Burritt, Owen Weaver and Chuck Fischer, along with GHP co-artistic directors Peter Stopschinski and Graham Reynolds, playing drums, piano, marimbas, xylophone and anything else that can be musically struck and/or pounded. Featuring new compositions by Graham and Peter, the concert will also world premiere pieces by Portland based composer Reed Wallsmith of the Blue Cranes, Christopher Campbell, Josh Robins of The Invincible Czars and The Apple Trio.
GHP has presented adventurous, award winning concerts of composed music since 1999 with a DIY ethic rooted in Graham and Peter's backgrounds in punk and indie rock, transmuted through their work as composers for the stage, on screen and in their experimental bands The Golden Arm Trio (Graham) and Brown Whörnet (Peter).
Over the history of GHP, we've gradually raised our musicians fees to be competitive with institutions like the Austin Symphony Orchestra. For this show, we're hoping to begin raising our composers fees to similarly competitive levels. Your support of this project will help us begin that process and raise our game as we power into our second decade!

Nope. As a community oriented cultural non-profit, GHP does not offer preferential seating. Those who pay more on our sliding scale do so with the gracious understanding that they are helping keep our concerts affordable for everyone.
