Welcome to GENERATION MAZE: Portal 1

Generation Maze is a rock band formed by professional musicians stepping out of the sideman shadow and entering the world of creation. “Portal 1” is a modern rock album in the vein of Jeff Buckley meets Muse, written by me (Matt Haze) and produced in collaboration with NY based musician Louis Cato (drummer for Marcus Miller, David Sanborn, and George Duke).

As many of you know, I've been fortunate enough to work as a sideman, playing guitar for incredible artists such as Lady Gaga, Matthew Morrison, J.C. Chasez, Solange Knowles, and many others. After years of touring with these inspirational artists, I'm fired up to share my own rocky, melodic tunes with you and get them into your stereo system.

I went on a journey into myself - poured out my guts to write lyrics for these songs - and even took up singing so I could convey my stories first hand. With Generation Maze I am returning to my roots, inspired by classic rock bands, and adding cinematic elements (like cello and piano) to enrich the sound. My vision is to create an epic album and a live show that will ROCK YOUR UNIVERSE!!

The GENERATION MAZE collective consists of Louis Cato (drums and bass), Simon Huber (cello), Alex Balderston (bass), Will Herrington (piano/keyboards), Leo Costa (drums), and myself on lead vocal and guitar. You'll hear them all on "Portal 1". 

We’ve already recorded most of the album so we are now ready to enter phase two: mixing, mastering, and marketing. It was a blast producing this album so far and we hope, with your help, we will be able to bring our music into the world.

Our goal of $10,000 will be enough to cover: mixing and mastering of the album, designing the CD cover and website, pressing the CD’s, shoot a first music video as well as marketing and merchandising. Surpassing our financial goal would allow more options for creating the surreal, out of this world experience we have in mind! Then we could even go on tour- which would be INCREDIBLE of course. 

This is an entirely independent project, and with your help YOU will become our record label. We truly want to have a personal connection with our fans, so this is the first ticket to our wild ride. ;)
