Hey guys! Just wanted to give you an update as we barrel headlong into October.
The first coil is constructed and we're working on the circuits to get the modulation working. We expect lots of breadboarding, tweaking, and transistor burnouts to follow :). Our current voltages are in the range of 20,000 volts, and we're looking in the next iteration of the coil to ramp up to the hundreds of thousands. An increase in voltage produces a longer arc length, as it has more potential to leap across this resistant little atmosphere we have here on Earth. We're learning lots along the way of what not to do, and the optimal ways of getting equipment to behave. Once the first is made just the way we like it, then duplicating it a few more times will be the easy trick of it.
The onset of school for some of our team members and our circuits god moving to Florida have slowed progress, although we keep moving forward. But consequently, there are places open on the team and if you're in the Boulder area and interested in lending a hand to the project, drop me a line and let's talk!
Also! The pledge rewards will be coming out towards the end of October, as we start getting our merch in stock. Pictures ahead, and videos soon to follow in the coming months. Thanks again, and hope the onset of fall is treating you all nice!
