Third Coast Kings are bringing a suitcase full of funk to GBS Detroit.
Third Coast Kings are heading to GBS Detroit to record and film a live e.p. and video this December. What make's GBS Detroit so special is that all of our sessions are recorded LIVE in one room, by one band, in one take. We don't use any studio smoke and mirrors. That means NO over-dubs, NO re-do's and NO auto-tuned vocals! Plus, the cameras will be rolling the whole time, with the videos being featured on GBS Detroit's site. This is your chance to experience Third Coast Kings live, loud and raw from the Motor City!
We're doing a Kickstarter campaign to raise the $600 needed to make this happen. But we're not here just asking for cold hard cash, when you pledge money to this project you'll get all kinds of great rewards, including the opportunity to be in the studio audience during the session!!

About Third Coast Kings
The Third Coast Kings are a proper deep funk and soul outfit. In the tradition of sixties and seventies funk groups, the Kings detonate with an explosive sonic force that is guaranteed to make you move. Their gritty sound is the raw concoction of horn driven hooks, devastating rhythm and an overall tightness that has made them a favorite in the Metro Detroit area. They draw influence from the great James Brown, as well as the many artists whose music was carefully salvaged by the crate digging revolution. Most importantly, the Kings make it a point to remain true to the style and technique of playing proper deep funk and soul to a live audience that might otherwise only be heard on dusty 45's. They are proud to be a part of the growing number of acts putting the right kind of funk back onto the stage.
