Kickstarter

Something incredible happened Wednesday.  Something that can’t go without acknowledgement and thanks.

First thing in the morning, we launched our Kickstarter project.  We had a goal that we thought was reasonable given the expenses that come along with launching an ebook project.  We laid out specific amounts for each of our goals and settled on a number we thought we had a good chance at hitting, given the campaign runs for 30 days.  Then… it started happening.  The support started pouring in and people started sharing the project like crazy.  We just mentioned the campaign runs for 30 days, right?  Well, it took all of about 18 hours to reach and surpass our funding goal.  And for that, we can’t possibly be any more grateful.  It was truly a great day for the two of us.  It reaffirmed the reasons why we started this site a few years ago and why we’re embarking on this new project.  The actions of our friends, loved ones and complete strangers over the past few days has helped show what this is all about.  We live in a good world, surrounded by extremely good people.

So, we hit the initial goal… what’s next?  Well, simply put -- the project doesn’t close.  The extreme generosity, support and encouragement we’ve received has caused us to reposition and rethink our initial goals and start brainstorming new ways to spread the good (believe us, the texts were flying back and forth between the two of us).  So, we humbly ask that you continue to share this project.  

When we started work on this project, we dreamed of supplementing the digital ebook version with a beautiful (officially published) print version, but once we glanced at print & publishing costs that wasn't an option at the time.  Who knows? If this project continues to fly, we may be able to meet that goal/dream.  We're very aware that not everyone has an iPad, so we don't want to forget about those people when sending out some good.  Every additional dollar raised beyond the initial goal is going to help us extend on delivery of our ultimate goal — getting the “good” out to as many people as possible.
