Update #9: The home stretch!
Okay. This is it everybody. Only 127 dollars to go, if my mathematics is correct (and it very well might not be!). Of course, we'll take all of the extra money we can get after that. Heh.
Let's go!
Lucas
Update #8: Wowowowow!
We are so close we can taste it! Only $207 to go. Let's go ahead and get this one sewn up today. What do y'all say?
Yeah!
Lucas
Update #7: We are getting close!
Can you feel the momentum? We are over $2200, thanks to Michael Orey's huge donation! We have 12 days left, and we need $800. We just need 40 people to give $20 apiece. We can do this thing!
Update #6: Whoa. You've turned us into Keanu Reeves. Whoa.
First off, thanks to Katherine Burgess for the 100 buck Henchmen level donation! That's just amazing.
Secondly, a big WHOA to Ken Griswold (via Alan Cook), who ponied up for the Ninja level donation, meaning he will have a day's activities named after him and a bunch of other great stuff! This puts us at the halfway mark with 20 days left! Let's hit our target within the next week, so we can stop stressing out, okay?
Lucas
Update #5: Let's keep it coming!
It looks like Bill wasn't the only Benson to donate some dough to GameCamp! Mike Benson came through with $100 dollars of his own, making him an official GameCamp! henchman. Caroline Barratt and Elise Jensen also donated money at the zombie level. We have four more weeks to go, and over $2500 to meet our goals. Spread the word! We don't get anything unless we meet our goal of $3000!
Thanks for the pledges!
Lucas
Update #4: Holy cow!
Wow! Bill Benson is the first donor to go for the Henchmen-level donation, meaning his name will be plastered all over GameCamp! materials. That's amazing. His 100 buck pledge goes a long way!
Also, we'd like to thank the Reverend Leigh Hall, Jenn Lortz, Matt Hannum, David Hannum, Jackie Mitchell, and Dan Gibson for their Zombie-level donations.
Sam Cook and Jayne Clamp also contributed money.
It's a movement, y'all. Spread the word! You know the drill: if 300 people give 10 dollars, etc. etc.
Yay!
Lucas
Update #3: Family Gamer wrote about GameCamp!
The word is spreading: http://www.familygameronline.com/2009/06/support-gamecamp-athens.html
This is great. Thanks so much to them for their support. But let's keep the momentum going and get more blog posts and more tweets and more diggs and more whatever the kids are into these days!
We're at 100 dollars. Only 2900 more to go! That's 290 people giving 10 bucks. That's nothing! We can do it. I believe in everyone everywhere.
Lucas!
Update #2: At the end of the first half-day...
...we're at 70 bucks. Not bad, but we need to score 100 dollars a day for 30 days! Let's go! Spread the word about GameCamp! and our unique mission to everybody.
Thanks to Susan Cook, Josh Squires, Allison Weiss, and Yancey Strickler for donating today! You are all champions.

Update #1: Wow!

GameCamp!™ is a summer program for middle and high school students that are interested in learning more about gaming. The camp uses computer and video game design activities to motivate students to learn 21st century skills. Students learn to problem solve, work in groups, design software, and understand the economic and management issues associated with game development. The most powerful part of the GameCamp!™ model is the ability to draw students back into the academic fold by harnessing their passion for video games and giving them a relevant context for understanding concepts across different educational fields.
