The Gallatin Art Crossing is a unique outdoor sculptue exhibit. Located in downtown Bozeman, Montana, the exhibit hosts a variety of artwork, introducing viewers to many artistic approaches. Sculptures will remain downtown to be displayed for a minimum of one year.
One of the goals of the Art Crossing program is to add at least one piece to the permanent collection every year. In addition to helping artists display and market their work, the Gallatin Art Crossing connects the public to an open voting opportunity through www.GallatinArtCrossing.com for the selection of the People’s Choice award every year.
Our 2012 goal
The goal of this year’s GAC Kickstarter campaign is to raise $10,000. Supporting the next level of development for the Gallatin Art Crossing will improve and expand the collection’s potential. This involves the construction of an informational kiosk, new website and completing the purchase of the Peoples Choice Award, Fish Face by Ole Nelson. Donation gifts are to be distributed at the 2012 installation day on July 21st. The installation day will add eleven pieces, totaling 52 to the collection and connect the community elements of the Gallatin Art Crossing with live music, libations and tours.
Locations of the 52 pieces that will be in place by July 21st, 2012
What is this "Kickstarter" thing?
Kickstarter is a way for anybody with an idea to obtain the resources necessary to carry it out (or at least get it kick-started). It works by having a whole bunch of different people "pledging" small amounts of money to the project. Pledged funds are only collected if the project reaches its goal within the allotted time- in other words, you only actually give money to successful projects. The amount that you pledge also gets you access to a variety of fabulous rewards like; Limited edition I ❤ Art Crossing Button, T-shirts, Name on the Kiosk or cement pad and more!
What if we exceed our goal?
Well, great! We have a lot of work ahead of us, including stipends for artists from out of state, new pads for the future, infrastructure and web development.
The Kickstarter goes live on May 15, 2012 and will end on June 15, 2012. We must reach our goal of $10,000 to be awarded the funds.
