Photo-main

My first album of original material in 6 years. The best songs I've ever written, and will be performed by the best musicians I know.

The Last Hurrah is a collection of the better songs I've written in the last 6 years.  They are decidedly more southern and alt-country sounding than my previous efforts, but after living in Atlanta for so long, it's probably rubbing off on me somewhat. It is, in all likelihood, my last musical creation as I prepare to join the rat-race next year. So, I wanted this experience to create some lasting memories for myself and everyone involved and assure that everyone was compensated for their time and hard work.

I have my old friend and incredible drummer Dave Maclean, (currently in Boston at Berkeley!), returning to play drums and percussion, the super-talented David Tyberg (of Extraordinary Contraptions fame) to play bass and provide backup vocals, Matthew Reed (of Metalsome & Co, and fellow law student) on lead guitars, and the lovely and talented Lindsay Rakers as guest vocalist.

I am proud to have extreme audiophile K. Yamada (Ga Tech) on board for the engineering and co-producing on this go-round. His contributions and concepts are already finding their way into these songs.

We plan to do most of the principle recording at the end of May, finish in June, mix and master in July and have the CD printed in August. I believe our target funding amount will allow us to do most of the recording in a quality studio space, so the CD will not sound "garage band". We have the people and technology to make this one sound like it came from a major label.  It's up to me to make sure that's what we get.

By the way, the photos for this record were done by the very talented Matt Boyd and his lovely wife Meredith. Great job you two!

Thanks and God bless,

Galen Crader

You get an original hard copy of the CD, because while I know CDs are becoming obsolete, I'm still quite fond of them. Further, I don't think a person should have to say goodbye to more than three music mediums in a lifetime. I'm looking at you vinyl, 8-track and cassettes.
