HERE WE GO...

I have been working on this for months and I am very excited to finally release this to you! I am working with Kickstarter to raise the money needed to record my forthcoming album by Zach Galanis and the Ergo West.

We have 40 days to reach our goal of $12,000. I have worked with some incredible artists and vendors to offer an amazing list of rewards exclusive to this campaign. Kickstarter is an all or nothing funding platform so we need to raise our goal by June 13th or we don't get any of the budget to record.   

For those many questions...

WHAT'S THE STORY OF GALANIS?

In 2008, while attending graduate school in LA, I recorded a collection of folk songs in my apartment as a rudimentary experiment in audio engineering and a means of collaborating with musicians who I’d met while performing in a Choir and Orchestra.  The band eventually evolved into an alternative folk-rock ensemble and we recorded our first full-length studio album, titled DIMES. The album release was preceded by a short tour through the Western United States and series of private home concerts.

WHAT'S THE NEW VENTURE?

We are going back to the studio!  I will again be collaborating with a group of talented musicians, including the band that created the DIMES LP, as well as a collection of new artists named the Ergo West. By June 2011, we are hoping to be in the studio with a Fall 2011 release date of the new album and a tour by Galanis and The Ergo West coming shortly thereafter.

MONEY. MONEY. MONEY... where is it going?

Each of the artists working on this project have significantly reduced their rates to be apart of this album. With their contribution, our overall production costs have been budgeted at $17,900.00. I have also personally committed $5,900 but before we go into the studio we need to raise the remainder of the funds. Below is where the money is going:

My hope with this campaign is to directly work with you and share in the process of creating an excellent record. Making albums is expensive but by partnering with Kickstarter we will be able to create an album that would otherwise not be possible. Throughout this entire process my hope is to offer our friends and fans a deeper connection to the music and the artists we work with.
