Independent artist, Gabriel Kelley, is preparing to record his first full-length album, 'It Don't Come Easy.'
Gabriel Kelley is a simple man making simple music. After over two years of preparation, he is ready to begin the recording of his first full-length album. The project, It Don’t Come Easy, is being independently funded through a grassroots movement using Kickstarter. The record-making process requires a substantial amount of funding. To make this project possible, Gabriel needs your help to provide funding for the following:
● Commercial Recording Studios ● Engineer and Producer Fee ● Professional Musicians ● Analog Tape ● Overdubbing Sessions ● Mixing Session ● Mastering Services ● Manufacturing of CDs. ● Album Graphic Design On the right hand side of this page Gabriel has listed incentives offered in return for your generous support. Please take a look at these and see what appeals to you. If the total $25,000 is raised by March 29th, your account will be charged and the total funds will be released to record the album. You will receive your incentive for helping him reach his goal upon completion of the record. If the fundraising goal is not reached by March 29th your account will not be charged and the project will not commence. The Album Concept: The Album, It Don’t Come Easy, is a collection of songs Gabriel began writing while living in his RV in Nashville. Having come to a new understanding about the purpose of music in his life, the songs for this record are predominantly autobiographic and come straight from the heart. The title of the album "It Don't Come Easy," more than suggests what has become Gabriel's mantra regarding his journey in life and music.
The Team: For this project, Gabriel is collaborating with several amazing and talented individuals that share his work ethic and love of music, including Grammy Award winning Engineer Neal Cappellino (Alison Krauss, Joan Osborne, Brad Paisley, The Gabe Dixon Band). Neal will be guiding the project from beginning to end, serving both as the engineer and producer. The musicians who will be working with him on this record include former members of the Cardinals.
“It will be an honor to work with such amazing musicians whose heart and talent have influenced and inspired me for many years. I am grateful beyond belief.” –Gabriel Kelley The Studio: To obtain a specific sound aesthetic, the entire album will be recorded to analog tape instead of digitally, and Gabriel plans to record core instrumentation at the legendary House of David Studio (Neil Young, Elvis, BB King)
Thank you: “To be given the freedom to create from an honest, transparent, place because of the giving hearts and support of friends, family, and fans is such a gift. I am deeply thankful for your support.” –Gabriel Kelley How to help spread the word: If you believe in this project, please help Gabriel spread the word. We encourage you to post this link to various social media sites (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, blogs, etc). We need music enthusiasts like you to tell your friends, family, acquaintances, and even strangers, to spread the word. This project will succeed with the help of people just like you.
