This project is intended to cover the development costs of an interactive character sheet so that it can be used freely by everyone.

A while back a friend asked me "how much would it take to get a 4e character sheet viewer working on the iPad?" as it turns out, the answer is "not terribly much."  

We're all tight on cash, and with another version of the rules coming down the pipe I know everyone is reluctant to shell out more cash for a tool they may or may not like.

Therefore, I wanted to set up this Kickstarter Project to fund a free digital gaming aid.  By the time this Kickstarter Project is launched, you will be able to download the free character sheet viewer on the iTunes App Store.  I want to take the app to the next level, however, and develop an interactive version of the application.  Download the app, check it out, and see how much you need an interactive version.  If you can't donate, but know someone who can, pass this along, we're all in this together to keep pen & paper gaming alive in the digital age.

Features to be included if this project is funded.

  • iCloud Sync
  • Mark powers as "used"
  • Take Rests
  • Heal HP
  • Temp HP
  • Take Damage
  • Add Temporary Effects (like +1AC)
  • Apply Status Conditions (like Dazed, Bloodied, or Restrained)
  • "Save Ends" Effect reminders
  • Power Points

If the project is over-funded, I have goals to add Dice Rolling (die tricks like "Brutal" & misc. bonuses make this complicated), a DM's version of the app (multiple character sheets loaded with previews), and if this project goes off the deep end of awesome, I'll learn Android and make an app for the rest of you out there.

If this project is successful, you can rest assured you'll see a similar project in 2013 when D&D Next hits the stores.  Also, if the project gets funded there won't be any special pass codes or redemption keys to access the interactive version of the app.  I'll release version 2.0, and everyone can download and access the additional feature this project's supporters helped make.

In addition, (as if that wasn't enough) I'll also make the code open source (probably on github), so the community can continue to contribute and improve the app.
