Kickstarter

OUR STORY:  Back in 2007 I read an article in the Los Angeles times about a Wiener Dog Race that was going on later that day.  I called up my friend and told him we should head down to the races.  When we arrived we were shocked to see the massive turn out.  I thought all these people must be here to actually see the horse races that were the "main event," and the Wiener Dog Races must just be the side-show circus that had attracted the few curious such as my friend and I.  

But I was wrong.  When I entered the track I was immediately struck by the huge number of Wiener Dog Fanatics!  People wearing team shirts, dogs and owners dressed in similar over the top uniforms, a guy in a wrestling outfit, whose dog was equally decked out.  This would make a great movie, I thought.  

We left the races, and the idea of making this movie gnawed at me everyday.  I pitched the film to Wienerschnitzel, the sponsor of the event in 2008.  They loved it!  I was off and running.  I wrote the script, and brought it around town.  Everyone loved it, but no one wanted to fund it.  "Its got kids and dogs in it," I heard over and over again.  "That will be too expensive to shoot."  

But we think they're wrong!  We believe that if you love a project, are passionate enough about a project, that others will become passionate about it too. 

Now, here we are.  Script in hand.  But still no money.  That's where you come in.  

Kickstarter is an amazing chance for filmmakers to connect with the public that wants to see their movies made.  Our response to this film has been so overwhelmingly positive, that we are encouraged to reach out to the fans of Wiener Dog Races everywhere and attempt to raise a portion of our financing via Kickstarter.

We have been four years in the making, and it's finally time for us to go into production.  This film has gone through quite a bit to get to where it is today.  We have had our fair share of hardships, but we will not give up until the lights go down, and this film comes up on the screen.  

WHAT DO I GET:  Take some time to go through the many items we have added for a donation to the film.  We anticipate some of the most popular to be a special thanks for you or your dog in the film.  We also have some great chances to visit the set, skip straight to the end and come to the Premiere, or to even have your dog STAR in the film.  We have put a lot of thought into our rewards for our backers.  Or as we like to call them, our barkers.  We plan on adding a few more along the way.  If you have something you'd like that you don't see listed, please email us at fromagepictures@yahoo.com, and we will see what we can arrange.
