Here's the story!
Frobeck is an award winning funk/rock band based in the north bay area above San Francisco. Since starting out in 2005 we've honed our skills, added a few players, and independently released 3 top notch full length albums, as well as two music videos and a brand new smokin' hot website, all while performing in various California venues. We've opened for Booker T, Bill Champlin ( Sons of Champlin), WAR, Ozomatli, Los Lonely Boys, Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk and more, and have gotten rave reviews along the way. In 2008 with the help of our loyal fan base we won a Norbay award for best rock band in the north bay, attracted professional management, and added in a powerful horn section and a backing vocalist. In 2012 we are back to promoting ourselves independently as a fully DIY (do it yourself) band.
Our new album, "624" - two years in the making, will be a new full length recording featuring 12 incredible original songs written by the band's prodigious songwriting / frontmen, Spencer Burrows and Kris Dilbeck. This album will capture the "FROBECK" sound, the tasty bass styling of Steve Froberg, Burrow's astounding vocal wizardry, the drum genius of Jon Lazarus, and the ultimate sweetness of Dilbeck's guitar riffage. What makes this release unique is that it will be the first to feature the "Frobeck Horn Stars"- Alex Scammon, Cayce Carnahan, and Alex Garcia - and current backing vocalist Callie Watts. Plus a big bonus: Bill Champlin, World famous super-singer-songwriter-soul-man, will be joining us with a guest appearance!
