Friendly Folk Farm is a collaborative effort that will educate people about organic farming, from certification to market.
Our mission is to start a farm and document the farm's growth from the ground up. We will document the progression of our farm from the preliminary planning stages, through the organic certification process, and into the growing and marketing aspects of the farm. This will be done through blog posts, pictures, and videos. At the end of our season, we will create a film compiling footage that we shoot throughout the year where we will give encouragement, recommendations, and perspective to aspiring farmers, young and old. We anticipate the blog updates and film to be an educational resource for others interested in starting an organic farm.
Our farm will produce a wide variety of organically grown vegetables, flowers, micro-greens and mushrooms for local farmers markets, restaurants, and CSA members. We will also be providing Abby's Aunt Emily's free-range and organically fed chicken eggs.
Your funds will help us: pay for organic certification fees, apply for farmer's markets, buy our seeds, transport our produce, pay our summer college interns, and allow us to document our project with the financial stability needed to make this project happen.
