Update #12 Continued!
Hey guys! As we head towards the final hours of the project, you know I keep thinking of how great you are...and about all the awesome candles I am going to make you!
This morning I had to run to the post office and do some toddler related errands but when I came back home, I found the mailman brought me a pile of happy good stuff. I wanted to share some pictures with you because the images relate to the last post.
The first picture is a reward that came in the mail today from The Sign Painter Project. That was a beautiful Kickstarter with great rewards--a hand lettered show card by Ches Perry at the $25 level. I'm showing you this picture to show off my sign (of course) but also to encourage you to look around Kickstarter for interesting projects to back. There is a variety of cool stuff out there--entrepreneurs like me and experienced pros like Ches Perry--and we really have good things to share.
Moving on to picture #2--some cute packaging by vintage Etsy seller Oh Albatross. I appreciated the vintagey touches of adding an old photo and sending a hand written thank you on an old card catalog card. Plus, the old school kindergarten paper that my item was wrapped in was perfect. I encourage you all to check out Etsy as a site to shop. While it is internet shopping and not the ever popular "local," you are supporting a network of indy businesses--most of which are women owned.
Third pic is of my The Brigantines CD. I opted for the instant download + the cd so we could easily listen to the tunes in the car. Yup, I said tunes. Do check them out! Scott St. Hilaire (the guitarist) is a backer of this project. I know him from the NJ music scene back when I was in high school. Yup, I said scene. Thanks, Scott!
Picture #4 is of a PRISON bottle that came in the mail today. Like a lot of my bottles, I bought it from a seller in the American southeast...but this one is actually British! During Victorian times, the bottles used in prisons were embossed as such so that they would not be used elsewhere. I think this is going to make a pretty bitchin' candle.
