Once upon a time, there was an Etsy seller whose handmade shop had no printed tea towels. And then Kickstarter fixed everything!
Just 3 days left! Seven new designs are printing next week. Two new images are featured below. If you would like to include one of those towels in your reward pack, great! They are available to any backer (who has pledged for a towel) for only $7 a piece! This is amazing pricing--30% off retail and no shipping charges! To get one of these cuties, just increase your pledge amount (look for the "manage your pledge" button) $7 for each towel. When the Kickstarter ends, I will send you a survey and you can indicate the towel design you want. Or...I can surprise you with one of the 7 new ones! We are already at 300% funded and it would be great if we could stretch it a little further with some more pledges! Please note that opting for one of the new designs will delay shipping a few days and there is a risk of a post Christmas delivery. I estimate a Dec. 20th ship date with a Dec. 24th delivery date. Fresh Pastry Stand is a vintage inspired, handmade gift brand. I sell cake stands and candles in my Etsy shop and would love to add flour sack tea towels to my product line to give my customers more options for holiday shopping.
I've recruited my high school friend Geoff to help me get my flour sacking tea towelling act together! I design them and he prints them. Together, we will be an unstoppable force to reckon with in the galaxy known as ETSY!
Inspiration comes from the vintage objects that surround me in my home and my work space. The shelves of my collections are the starting point for my artwork. We've designed and printed prototypes of 5 initial designs. Let's blow this thing up so we can get cranking on the 10 other designs sitting in Dropbox!

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
This is a pretty straightforward project. I designed some tea towels. You pledge for your reward. My friend Geoff prints the towels. I package it with my Fresh Pastry Stand label and ship them to you. Other than bizarre Acts of God*, I honestly cannot think of a single risk associated with this low-tech, handmade project.
If there is a major insane bum rush of these tea towels, then we may need to really break a sweat to get the towels printed, tagged and shipped, but I promise there will be no outsourcing to China. This is a Florida-New Jersey joint production and we are keeping it real right here in the USA.
*Hey guess what? A Bizarre Act of God already happened! This Kickstarter was on schedule to launch 2 weeks ago but Geoff lives in Sayreville, one of the towns hit hardest by Sandy. So we are already getting a late start with this Kickstarter. I admit, it will be a bit of a crunch to get you your tea towel by Christmas. If we hit goal early in the KS, we can start printing! Another key factor to getting you your tea towels on time is that you make sure everything is in check with your Amazon payment account. Any delays in collecting your payment will definitely delay the arrival of your tea towel. I promise we will do our part to get you your stash for Christmas but you need to do your part, too!
