So, our first attempt at Kickstarter may have been unsuccessful, but that does not mean that we will not continue forging ahead. We will still try to fully fund the first season and have a few other options that we are considering. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to message us.
If there is one thing we know, it is that it takes persistence and dedication to make something great, and we intend to continue our pursuit.
Thanks so much for your support, and we hope to be able to bring something to you in the very near future : )
I was in Euro Gyro (a pizza/gyro joint) in Kent, Ohio yesterday... and our flyer for "Four Tanks and a Healer's Kickstarter page was still on the wall. That's over a month straight! All the other flyers had come and gone but our own was still there. That means somebody liked it and wanted it to stay.
That's the enthusiasm we need and proof that fans are out there. Thank you to anybody who has helped pledge, spread the word, or whatever else. Thanks to those who are supporting us and making the effort to help us make this thing a reality.
In 4 days, our time is up. We'd need over $10,000 a day for the next 4 to hit our goal. It almost certainly will not happen. It could, but it probably won't.
But one way or another, "Four Tanks and a Healer" WILL HAPPEN.
I don't know when and I don't know how, but it will. I promise.
I've done just about everything I can think of to plug this thing.
I will absolutely never give up on "Four Tanks", so if this Kickstarter fails I'll just go back to investor hunting.
One thing I realized is that I have no name power. I'm not famous. If I were, many more people would know about and likely support what we're doing.
So, I do have about 3 other projects in the work under a new company I started myself called "Eddy Spaghetti Productions". One, a documentary, is just about finalized and will be sent to festivals and distributors very soon. I've been getting a lot of interview requests about it and there's word that the Huffington Post MIGHT run a story on it. That would help awareness about what we're doing a LOT.
Another is a feature film with Dian Bachar on board to star and with Mark Ordesky on board to help produce. That one is really building up to be something special. We have our first investor attached, our paperwork ready to go, etc. If I focused on this and got it finished, would I then be in a better position a year from now to make "Four Tanks" happen?
Another animated pilot I created is in production right now too. "Captain Wilcox vs The End of the World". Zombies, mutants, all that good stuff. Again... if I finish this... who knows who I might meet or attract along the way.
So my gut says that maybe I should focus on the projects that are definitely moving forward rather than beating mercilessly on the "Four Tanks" drum and annoying everybody around me. Maybe if I can gain a little more power, I can make "Four Tanks" myself without having to worry about bugging people.
What do you think?
Of course, I would very much prefer for the Kickstarter Page to suddenly be tweeted by people like Harry Knowles, Felicia Day, Chris Hardwick, etc etc and for it to explode.
But that's just not happening (Or atleast, has not happened yet).
So... what do you guys think would be a wise next step?
