THE STORY

       Forsake was founded by Jake Anderson and Sam Barstow – two college friends and former ski bums with a passion for the outdoors and an undiagnosed addiction to fresh new gear. While working at ski resorts in the Rockies, we needed waterproof footwear that felt equally at home in both casual and rugged environments; shoes that stood up to harsh weather and terrain without sacrificing comfort, performance, or style. Unable to find a product that satisfied our cravings, we developed three of our own.

       About six months ago we launched on Kickstarter but didn't reach our $225,000 goal. We've since switched to a new production facility that can accommodate smaller manufacturing runs and we are now offering womens sizes 7.5 and up. So we're back with a vengeance! 

       Production of these three models requires a lot of capital, so we need your help to make it happen! If successful, funds will be used to purchase supplies & materials, develop molds for each size, reserve space on the production line, shipping, and travel to oversee the production process.

THE GOODS

Technology & Construction:

All of our shoes are built with the following features...

• Aqua-Tek waterproof/breathable membrane
• Premium leathers
• Taped seams
• Gusseted tongues
• Dual-density EVA midsole for cushioning
• Composite shank for stability
• Anatomical footbed

Sizing:

       Shoes are available in US Men's sizes 6 to 13. This includes all half sizes except 12.5. If our funding goal is achieved, all backers will be contacted to find out preferred model, color, and size. Women's shoe sizes = Men's + 1.5, meaning a Men's 6 = Women's 7.5.

Fit:

       Forsake shoes fit slightly wider than your average running shoe and are built to accommodate a variety of foot shapes. Length is true to standard US Men's sizing. No need to be concerned if you have a narrow foot. With 6-7 eyelets over the top of the foot and 2-3 across the ankle, our products are very easy to tighten and secure.

TRACTION & SUPPORT

Our outsole incorporates the following design features...

• Directional inner lugs provide traction while accelerating/ascending and decelerating/descending
• Wide outer lugs for balance and stability
• Large contact points on heel and toe for wear resistance
• Wide channels between lugs minimizes mud build-up
• Asymmetric design follows natural shape of the foot
• Varied lug depth provides grip on both firm and loose terrain

THE REWARDS

      All rewards that include shoes are intended for one pair. You can order more than one pair simply by adding $95/pair (or $80, if you have the Post-Election Special) to your pledge. Shoes will ship in April. Tee shirts will ship in January. If our campaign is successful, Backers will be contacted to determine preferred model, color, and size.

       Throughout production our shoes will undergo rigorous quality control by a third-party agency. This includes waterproof testing, material strength and abrasion testing, and fit testing. Backers will be updated regularly to provide an inside look into our development and production.
