The Modern Nouveau Collection by Fallene Wells

Fallene’s Modern Nouveau Collection, a new fashion line that takes a modern approach to the 1920s era, will update the fabrics, textures and styles of 1920’s fashion for today’s modern woman. With the launch of her collection, Fallene will continue her efforts to support the Denver, CO fashion scene by employing local personnel to assist in the project, from photographers and art directors to other area designers, seamstresses, pattern makers, and business consultants. The clothes will be developed and manufactured in Denver utilizing the skills of local industry and design professionals to ensure quality in addition to supporting the growth and viability of the local creative business community.

The fabrics chosen for this collection are luxurious herringbone, plaid, and cashmere wools, faux fur, velvet, and custom printed silk. The goal is to incorporate the luscious fabrics, prints, and textures from the 1920’s while keeping the silhouette modern and figure flattering for today's stylish woman.

With the help of Kickstarter backers we will be able to debut Fallene Wells’ signature collection in Spring 2012, which will also give back to the Denver fashion scene by supporting local industry and providing opportunities to other local designers and stylists. Fallene Wells is a prominent member of Denver's creative community and is known as a passionate style maven who’s setting the stage for the local fashion scene through her work as a designer, hairstylist, fashion show producer, and recent contestant on Project Runway Season 9. She is a highly creative, high-energy individual, and has been designing clothes since 2007. At the heart of Fallene’s work is a desire to give back to the Denver fashion community. A well-known figure in the Denver scene, Fallene is always looking for ways to support and promote the city’s fashion industry; one of her driving goals is to help the creative small business community thrive. To that end, she shops local, raises money for area nonprofits, and is a volunteer committee member of the Denver Design Incubator, a local non-profit that helps educate and support indie designers in producing their collections.

About me: I’m a certified color specialist and hairstylist by day, and in my spare time I design clothing as well as plan and produce fashion shows that help support the local fashion community. I recently was featured on Project Runway Season 9 which helped to gain exposure for my fashion shows and my designs. I’m always looking for new ways to help the small business community in Denver by cross promoting, raising money for local small non-profits, shopping local, and helping inspire youth to go for their dreams. I thoroughly love everything that I do, but my life has become too hectic to produce any of my designs in multiple sizes and styles to sell in stores.

I was recently introduced to Jessica Montoya, a wonderful small business entrepreneur who has just launched COsewn, her own indie fashion development and production company in Denver. I immediately felt this would be a perfect match: I could help her establish her business in fashion production by having her produce my signature collection.
