Thanks again to everyone who so generously supported THE WATT? AN ENERGY 101 PRIMER! The ebook is now ready for public distribution and sale, through our WATT webpage.

Now, we’re now shifting our attention to spreading the word about this great new resource. Our goal is to get the book read by 10,000 people by the end of the year - and to do this we’ll be asking for your help. For starters, please let anyone in your network who might be interested know about The WATT?

You’ll find more regular updates about The WATT? and energy literacy along with conversations and contests on our Facebook page. You can also find us on LinkedIn.

For kickstarter supporters who are owed a free ebook, we’ll be emailing you a survey to find out your e-reading device of choice so we can get you the appropriate version.

For all of you supporters who receive print editions of THE WATT? AN ENERGY 101 PRIMER your patience has paid off -- the books are in the mail!!!

Depending on where you live the expected delivery dates are February 4-6th.  Please send an email to info@focusthenation.org if you have any questions, concerns or feedback.

The e-book will be launched in a few short weeks!!!  Those supporters who will be receiving an e-book as a reward will have the option of getting the e-book through Amazon, Apple or Barnes & Nobles.  You will be receiving an email  from info@focusthenation.org in the next few weeks with directions on how to access the e-book through the platform of your choice.

Quick update on the status of the project as we wind down 2012:

The print edition of The WATT? is in production and the books will be mailed at the start of the new year.  For those supporters that will be using the book in their classroom (great job teaching energy!!!) we realize you need to plan ahead.  Expect to receive the book by the second week of January.

The e-book edition of The WATT? is also in production and will be launched in February.  For those supporters that will receive an e-book we will send you codes to download the e-book through Amazon, Apple or Barnes & Noble at the beginning of February.

Thank you so much for supporting our Kickstarter Campaign for The WATT? An Energy 101 Primer.  Our project has experienced some delays (writing, researching, copy editing, designing etc for a 240 page book takes some time -- whew!) and we really appreciate your continued support.

+ PDF of The WATT?  The pdf is password protected because it is only available to our Kickstarter supporters. We can't believe October is already here!  We're gathering up all the rewards and want to get them out to all of our fantastic supporters -- please remember to respond to the survey we sent to each of you so we know how to get the rewards to you. 

A few updates -

Poster Rewards:  For our new edition of The WATT? we have created a great infographic entitled "The Cost of Power" which compares the range of costs of fuel sources for electricity and the impact of federal subsidies.  Thanks to the brilliance of Ben Jervey and Zack Scafuri this infographic looks super cool.  We've decided to print this as a poster instead of the "Timeline of Electricity".  Trust us - you'll love it.  For those of you that chose the "American Energy Spectrum" you will still receive that poster.  If you have any questions or concerns about this poster swap please send us a message.

E-books:  There is an extra step to getting the e-book published (it has to do with D-U-N-S numbers and they have recently changed the process) -- long story, but the short version is that this will delay the e-books being delivered by a few weeks.  We will keep you updated.  If you are interested in learning more about these type of things, feel free to send us a message and we will be more than happy to share the exciting and boring details of getting an awesome e-book published.

Other Awards:  Like we said in our last update -- we will be getting these to you as soon as we get all of your information so don't forget to complete the survey we sent to you!  For those of you that will be receiving a print copy of The WATT? it will be coming separately in a different shipment from your other rewards in the mail.
