About this project

Flutronix is at an exciting crossroads! Thanks to our wonderful fans and friends, we’ve had a very successful season so far in 2010, performing music ranging from Reich to Radiohead and beyond at some of New York’s most notable new music venues. As a result, we’ve begun to put the creative wheels in motion for our debut album, to be released in Fall 2010.

The record will include electro-acoustic works written by Flutronix, with some fan favorites like "Stacked" and "Stay Close," along with some new tunes! Because we both write and perform our own music, it won’t take much to make this album happen, but we’ll need your involvement to get started!

We have to raise $3500 to carry us through the initial recording and production phases. We are hoping that your donation pledge will help us take the steps to make that happen. Here are some examples of what your donation could help us pay for:

• $10 donation pays for 30 minutes of the studio engineer’s time
• $25 donation pays for almost one hour of our producer’s time
• $50 donation pays for one hour of mixing/mastering
• $100 donation pays for one hour of recording studio time
• $250 donation pays for half of a production day

We owe many of our accomplishments to the Flutronix family, and your contribution will undeniably allow us to continue to grow. We invite you to pass this information on to anyone who might share an interest in the Flutronix mission, and thank you in advance for your involvement! And of course, as a token of our appreciation, your gift will be rewarded!

Nathalie Joachim and Allison Loggins-Hull are Flutronix, a pair of fresh and eclectic flutists who are paving the way from their classical roots to the future of music. Performing the works of notable pioneers of new music along side their own creations, Flutronix displays an innovative combination of flute and mixed media elements. Their original compositions comfortably navigate daring forms of popular, experimental, and contemporary classical music while implementing electronics and digital effects. The duo pays tribute to groundbreaking work by exposing audiences to composers who have contributed to new bodies of literature that expand the language of the flute. Quickly becoming a staple in the New York City indie-classical scene, Flutronix has performed their signature act at leading new music venues including Galapagos Art Space, The Tank and The Cell. With a strong belief in cross-collaboration, Flutronix has provided live underscoring for theatrical productions and worked with artists/ensembles of various disciplines including members of the Sirius string quartet, music producer/composer Shahla Atlas, drummer Joe Blaxx and Blind Ear Music. Their performances have been broadcast on WKCR and on WNYC's webcast of "Battle of the Boroughs" where they competed as Brooklyn finalists.
