About this project
Unity is an anthology of webcomics; the first story ran from February 2007 thru February 2010, and was 255 strips long. I would like to make a print collection of this first story for sale at various local comic and art conventions as well as online.
The funds will go to the initial print run and will affect the size of the initial run, as per-copy color printing costs go down significantly based on quantity. If enough funds are collected, I will use what's left over to make smaller comic-book-sized collections of the other Unity stories so far (Planetfall, Breeder, and Meat).
Rewards Update
Because Kickstarter doesn't let you edit rewards after anyone selects one, please note that the rewards have improved since they were written. The limited $5 reward gets you a hard copy of the book, and the $15 levels and up get copies of both of my albums on CD (2011's Love and Monsters, and 2009's foodsexsleep).
FAQ
-
It turns out that shipping the book to Canada costs only slightly more than to the US, so feel free to just do the normal pledge if you're in Canada (although I wouldn't mind you throwing in a couple more bucks to cover the difference anyway).
-
My original plan was to have the first run available for purchase at Further Confusion in January, 2012, but due to my poor planning that ended up not being possible. However, I will definitely be selling copies online, and most likely at APE 2012 in San Francisco.
Of course, backers will get their copies before anyone else!

The book organizes the whole story together into a single bound full-color volume with clear chapter markers (including all-new chapter title pages) and a table of contents for easy perusal. The comics are also included at their full working resolution, rather than the 33-40% reduction they're presented at on the web. I also plan on having content in the book that isn't on the website. Finally, it's a nice way to show support for something that you may have enjoyed.

Not only is there a comprehensive endnote section that includes all of the popup text with easy cross-referencing between the comics and the notes, the endnotes have their own footnotes that explain the more oblique references! So in case you have no idea what I was referencing with my highly-referential and generally-weak attempts at snark, now you'll finally find out.
