About this project

Flatlands Dance Theatre is a Lubbock, Texas based professional dance company with a mission to produce and promote innovative and diverse dance and provide educational outreach initiatives to underserved community members in West Texas though a collective of working artists.

As a young company, we are striving to continue a tradition of professional contemporary dance in West Texas and beyond.  We are enthusiastic about sharing our commitment to furthering the visibility of professional dance.  We have been working tirelessly on our upcoming production, "Collide: A Collaboration of Artists and Art Forms," and we are excited to share it with you!  Please enjoy a glimpse of what FDT is all about in the video clip above, and consider making a donation in support of our financial goal!

About the concert:

"Collide" is FDT’s third formal concert as an established nonprofit dance company.  As FDT is centered on the philosophy of collective art making, so is its latest production.  Each FDT choreographer selected an established artist of another genre such as music, visual arts, theatre, and poetry to collaborate with in making an original work.  Complex and highly entertaining, these fusion works feature not only live dance, but also live music, theatrical interludes, film, and art works that intersect with the movement of dancers onstage.  Joining the company are guest artists Jason Barton (film), Courtney Brown (theater), Emmett Buhmann (lighting design), Carol Fluekiger (visual art), Adam Gallegos (film), Bruce Hermann (theater) Curtis Peoples (music), Bryan Wheeler (visual art), and Andy Wilkinson (music).

What your contribution will help us do:

Your generous donation to Flatlands Dance Theatre will underwrite the purchase of costumes for our upcoming concert as well as the rental of The Firehouse Theater in Lubbock, Texas.  All contributions are tax deductible.
