About this project
Help FIF Make the Album of your Dreams!
We need your support now more than ever. The inspiration and energy to create an amazing record is there but this time we will be working without the support of a label. This gives us incredible artistic freedom, but it also means we need to raise our own financing. Our hope is to release an album in 2013, ten years after our initial final show.
We are shooting for the financial goal of $30,000.Your pledges will be used to pay for demoing new material, recording, mixing, mastering, and associated travel expenses.Keep in mind, this budget covers making the album only. Every dollar we raise over $30,000 will be used for such things as promotion of the album once it's released because we think it would be great to have this album reach as many people as possible! Additional funds could also enable us to play some shows, because yes, we would love to play shows!
Thank you so much, every one of you for all the love, kindness, support, humor, prayers and friendship you have shown us since 1995. To our absolute joy this band continues to be more than just a band to many of you....and you are more than just folks at a show to us. If the past is any indication of the future we may all be in for a very wild ride.
We will keep you posted every step of the way.
Sincerely yours, Five Iron Frenzy
PS) If you aren't familiar with our band and would like to donate, thank you very much! We hail from the land of ice and snow; Denver. You can ask some cool people about us and keep up with our ventures at www.FiveIronFrenzy.com and www.facebook.com/5ironFrenzy
We can not thank you enough for making this happen. I got a little teared up when I saw the goal reached so fast. Our fans are incredible.
THIS ALBUM IS REALLY GOING TO HAPPEN GUYS!

YES! We are trying to make this happen, we just had no idea anyone still liked us. Stay tuned and send us a message if you have any ideas...

It is a side-effect of the Super-Soldier serum.

Yeah... this happened in 55 minutes. What is wrong with you people? Our band sounds bad. But, if you want to torture yourselves...
We have talked as a group about playing 10 festivals in 2012, and then the possibility of a tour beyond that. We aren't trying to gouge you for money- much to the contrary. We are all still in some ways, each paying for the 9 years we were in Five Iron. Whether it is unpaid taxes, putting off college, or just allocating most of a decade to make $1056.66 a month. We worked hard to be accessible and cheap when we toured, and although we aren't sorry we did, we are not wealthy people. We have real jobs and families and our greatest fear right now is to jeopardize that. So, we figured if we could work some sort of "failsafe" salary into the prospect of touring, AND we can convince our bosses to let us miss some work- it's happening. The more money we raise, the more cities we can reach, even if it means Andy has to pay off his supervisors to get some extra vacation. So keep your fingers crossed and pray about it.

When we started this we thought that you could back multiple pledges. The good people at Kickstarter told us that this is not true. Each account can pledge once per project, so you can just create a second Kickstarter account and make another pledge. Hope that helps!

At the end of this Kickstarter thing, we will send out a questionnaire and you will be able to pick whatever size that you want. (wedgie is one size fits all)

Saki is a dear friend, and we have many fond memories of our times together. We have immense respect for him, and he will always be part of the Five Iron family. There are a couple of factors, however, that prompted us to go another direction for this album.
From a purely logistical perspective, it is simply more convenient to record elsewhere. With Dennis' close connections to recording studios in New York and the fact that nobody in the band lives near Saki in the bay area it just made sense to move production there. We are able to save a lot of money on studio time, and we can stay at Dennis' place for free. Plus he and Melinda are really great cooks. :)
This is a new beginning for the band and we want to seek out new creative possibilities. In the years since Five Iron broke up we have individually explored other sounds and influences, and we are anxious to hear how a fresh set of ears will help us come together and channel this into something we are all proud of. Dennis has worked closely with our new producer, Jeremy, on a number of other projects. When we were first discussing the possibility of making a new record he pitched the idea of having him produce the new song. After checking out some of Jeremy's work and talking with him we agreed. We couldn't be happier with how "It Was a Dark and Stormy Night" came out, and we are excited to work with him on the new album.

Sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit, these men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground.
Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune.
If you have a problem - If no one else can help - and if you can find them - maybe you can hire Five Iron Frenzy.
OK, well that's not entirely true. We came into existence as a band in 1995. Recorded 2 live records, 1 EP, 5 studio records, a few vinyl releases, a full length DVD (some would call it longer than full length) and an album that was recorded completely as a joke.
If you're concerned that we won't finish this project, our previous body of work will attest to our ability to really crank this stuff out. We are, if nothing, productive. You should see how many kids we've made in the last 8 years!!
