Let's face it, many talented, motivated filmmakers will always get their films done - and do it well. But many will not. 99% of filmmakers struggle to find funding, education, resources, crew and more. They need orgs like IFP, Film Independent, San Francisco Film Society, Filmmakers Alliance and others. They need to connect. Not with just anybody, but with specific resources that can move their film forward.
There's lots of great stuff out there in the world for filmmakers, but it's all over the map - uncurated, unorganized, incompatible, etc. And nobody wants to jump from site to site. They want it all in one place in a way that makes sense.
They also can't always easily build a community around them. A meaningful FILMMAKING community. Most of them just want to make films by hook or by crook. But they need help. And frankly, we're still not seeing that help out there the way it could be - otherwise we wouldn't even bother with this site. There's so much more that can be done to make the filmmaking process easier that hasn't yet been done. There's just many pieces of a very messy puzzle floating around out there and only a small handful of people, like yourself, who are capable of comprehending it all and taking what they need to thrive.
As an emerging filmmaker, I needed support. Lots of it. There has always been a need for filmmaking organizations. And always will be. I happen to believe that the offline orgs are kinda going the way of the dinosaur. You can get all they offered (I should say we, because Filmmakers Alliance is clearly one of them), and so much more, online with far less overhead being gobbled up by org administration. So let's make it happen. $10 at a time...

You can choose what you want to screen or you can host a screening of an FA feature film or a collection of shorts (And Citizen Producer package).

Either we provide you with a top-notch, compact, six-member FA crew (with digital equipment) including Producer, Director of Photography, Sound person, Hair/Make-up/Costumer, Set Designer and Production Assistant for up to 5 days to shoot anything you choose (in the Los Angeles area only) OR a 3-person documentary crew (with equipment) WILL COME TO YOU for 2 days (in Continental U.S. only). Be advised, there will most certainly be additional costs to you depending on what you want to shoot. But the world-class crew and equipment will be made totally available to you!! FILMMAKERS ALLIANCE (FA) was started in 1993 as an answer to the practical needs of independent filmmakers. FA has evolved into a multi-layered support organization, providing a unique mutual support system through which members share time, energy, expertise, equipment and, most importantly, creative support for one another's film projects from concept through distribution. Through this support, along with numerous education and empowerment programs, hundreds of films have been produced through FA and have screened in dozens of major festivals throughout the world.
