It is Time To Make Some Music
I make music to heal. I make music to inspire. I make music to refresh. I make music to make you happy.
There is sooooo much I need to share right now with all of you. These songs are bursting out of me. It has been 6 years since I recorded my debut project entitled beauty from ashez. I have performed across the country, Antigua, Ghana and Israel with that cd. I have many more places that I MUST get to so it is time.
I began working on my sophomore project in 2006. At the same time I started recording, I met the most wonderful man and started on a new life. We have been married 3 years and have 2 incredible sons. I decided to wait until I was on the other side of all of these new & awesome experiences before I approached the project again. And I am so glad that I did. The songs that are pouring out of me exceed even my expectations of myself. I cannot wait to hear these new babies come to life. It is time.
The gift I am giving myself is to use live musicians on EVERY song...no tracks at all. Of course, this makes everything more expensive so....my mentor, Ron Harmony, comes up with an idea to make it possible. "Write the songs, rehearse the band, everyone go to the studio and record it live.", he says. I started bouncing up and down and in Fhena land that means that something is not just a good idea, it is an idea that will work fhenamenonally. This cut what the budget would have been in half. So Ron calls up Al Ross, owner of Soul Sound Studios and tells him that I am ready to come to see him. I call my MD, Myron Carroll, and tell him the concept and he is ready to go. I call the gifted vocalist, my brother in song, Mr. Reginald Prince and he is ready to sang. I call my brother, the AMAZING Keite Young, to see if he wants to do some producing and he is all in. The whole team so believes in this that we have already started working. It is time.
So now, it is up to us to take this journey together. Stops along the way are entitled, "In the Wind", "There Is a Better Way", "Our Dance", "Wonderful", "Gotta Get Home" and more. I promise you that when I pick you up at the beginning of the cd, I will take you on a ride that elevates your spirit and expands your mind all the while having a whole lot of fun! It is time!
