About this project
Join us as we tell the story of a community united to fight a Cyanide Leach Gold Mine from destroying their natural resources and contaminating their water supply . They fought with music,prayer and grassroots community activism. As told by the heroes themselves and a soundtrack they produced almost 20 years ago.
This is the Story of Buckhorn Mountain and those who chose to protect her and those who would attempt to destroy her!
The "Environmental Impact Statement" was a collection of 10 songs written to inform people of the long term affects of Cyanide Leach Goldmining. When I heard it, all I could think of was "soundtrack" to the movie!!
My company has all the resources to produce the film and my connection with this community allows me direct access to the characters, the mine and more!
The money will cover my travel expenses, gear rentals and company expenses to take the year off from commercial work to solely concentrate on this project and ofcourse buy everyone a t-shirt,dvd and poster.
My goal would be to begin production as soon as we secure funding and finish within 1 year.

MINING ACT OF 1872:
All citizens of the United States of America 18 years or older have the right under the 1872 mining law to locate a lode (hard rock) or placer (gravel) mining claim on federal lands open to mineral entry. These claims may be located once a discovery of a locatable mineral is made. Locatable minerals include but are not limited to platinum, gold, silver, copper, lead, zinc, uranium and tungsten.
basically this act that was made almost 130 years ago still allows any corporation to mine federal land for free!

my name is Tim Cash. I am a self taught filmmaker from Bend, Oregon. I've had the great fortune to make a career for myself and be at the right place at the right time. I've shot & directed 60 music videos as well as been a cameraman and editor for the Outdoor Channel series Adventure Guides. I was also the editor of the award winning documentary "BACK TO THE GARDEN" and I'm currently a cameraman and editor on the (still in production) documentary "BOOM VARIETAL" . Along with these projects I've had the pleasure to work on countless other projects. I'm personall inspired by this topic as a true David & Goliath tale. it will be my documentary directorial debute.
