About this project

The Femme Show premiered to sold out crowds in Boston, MA in October 2007 and since then has been an annual queer theater event. The Femme Show is a revue of smart, sexy, interactive performance about queer femme identity that features film, dance, literary readings, burlesque, drag, and performance art from award winning artists.

2011 marks the second annual East Coast Femmepire Summer tour! The mission of this tour is to bring moving and innovative queer art beyond the bounds of New England. The  Femme Show serves as a platform for queer artists to expand the reach of their work and gives audiences the chance to experience a show that's explicitly queer and bombastically feminine!

We're fundraising to fuel the FEMME MOBILES! Our goal is to raise $1400 to cover the costs of two cars full of femmes and friends. We're playing: PORTLAND, ALBANY, NYC, PITTSBURGH, PHILLY, and BALTIMORE. Your support enables us to play affordable shows AND pay artists!

Connected as Maggie Cee (691 friends)

Rachel Kahn is a freelance writer, poet, and performer, but spends the vast majority of her time pretending to be a therapist. Her work has been heard at a variety of venues, including the Apocalypse Lounge, the Ear Inn Poetry Series, and The New York Writers’ Coalition ‘Writing Aloud’ series. One upon a time, she was the second runner up for the esteemed title of Ms. JewSA. Maggie Cee is an artist, activist, dancer, writer, and educator committed to community and social change. She is the founder and artistic director of The Femme Show, a ground-breaking touring variety show about queer femme identity and femininity. Her writing has appeared in anthologies including Second Person Queer from Arsenal Pulp Press.
