HI Far Out Friends...Quick Update:

Those people who solely chose t-shirts as their incentives should either have them in their possession or will be receiving them as soon as the USPS gets their act together, which in reality could be never, if you know anything about the USPS.

We are expecting postcards to arrive tomorrow so the rest of the packages (Bobbleheads, Posters, more shirts and so on) will go out this week. Thanks again for your patience!

We are officially accepted into Glasgow, Jameson Dublin, Miami and a few other festivals which we can't quite announce yet but will soon. AND, we're about to sign a US distribution deal (finally!) so we should have a US theatrical run starting in Summer! PS: For those of you in Ireland, Brad & Tomi will be both at the Q&A at the Dublin screening on Feb 18th--we hope to see you there...and maybe share a cocktail after!

At long last, without further ado, we present the Far Out t-shirts!

As we mentioned in our prior post, these will be sent with the other rewards before the New Year, except for the DVD's which will come your way (if you get one) in a 2nd package in 2013 when we finalize our deal with our North American distributor. We anticipate having those DVD's in the summer of 2013. Sorry for the delay but distribution is a laborious process!

Hi Everyone:

Hope each of you are well We received a question about incentives and timing from one of our backers this morning and so we wanted to take the time to explain where things are at. All good news though!

Incentives

As we mentioned in a prior update, we ARE sending out incentives before the end of the year. T-Shirts have been designed and are in the process of being made. We should receive them around Christmas and once they are in our office, we will commence shipping.

• Important: If you have moved and your address has changed, please send me your new mailing address by the end of the year. Otherwise, we will ship to an outdated address and you may not receive your rewards.
• Note: The English language DVD's have not been pressed yet since we're still in negotiations with an American distributor, but alas, things are progressing and we will send a 2nd package out in 2013 once DVD's are ready. It should be mid-to-late 2013.
• As for French DVD's, they too will be ready in 2013 once our French distributor presses them.

Theatrical Release - France

The theatrical release date in France is slated for December 19th. We're so far booked in 15 theaters in France but we anticipate the number going even higher. For updates on this please join our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/FarOutTheMovie. As for the theatrical release in other countries, we're working on some things now to make that happen!

Festivals

If you aren't a friend of ours on Facebook you may not know that we won the Audience Award for Feature Documentaries at the Warsaw Film Festival! We'll also be at a bunch of huge domestic and international festivals in the new year. Stay updated via Facebook as we should be announcing more shortly and in January.

A hearty October hello to all of our very patient backers...

We wanted to give you a quick update on the status of the film AND most importantly on the status of you receiving your Far Out rewards, which will be coming shortly!

NYC PREMIERE

To start with, we are having our NYC Festival Premiere as part of the 3rd annual DOC NYC. If you're not familiar with the festival that's because it's somewhat new, but it's getting pretty darn big. Ken Burns Central Park Five, Jared Leto's Artifact, Jorge Hinojosa's Iceberg Slim: Portrait of a Pimp and other films that premiered at Toronto, Sundance and Cannes are having their NYC premieres at DOC NYC this year. And so are we! In fact, we are one of ten films who are in competition for the Viewfinders jury prize and for the SundanceNOW audience award: http://www.docnyc.net/films-events/#viewfinders

Our screening dates and times are:

• 1:45pm, Saturday, November 10th @ School of Visual Arts Theater on West 23rd St.
• 11:30am, Tuesday, November 13th @ IFC Center at 323 6th Avenue.

The SVA theater, where our Premiere is, is a pretty awesome theater with 473 seats. So feel free to bring your drinking buddies to that Saturday showing as we want it sold out and we want to have some fun! Plus, we want to win one of these awards and in order to do that you need to sell out and drop your ticket stub in the appropriate place.

We've been fortunate enough to have been accepted to some incredible festivals throughout the world. We're only allowed to give you a partial list right now (you wouldn't believe how secretive the process is) so we'll announce more in the weeks and months ahead. But for now it's:

REWARDS

OK, to the goodies. We've made the executive decision to begin sending out rewards despite the fact that we are still dealing with distributors and therefore don't have DVD's yet. Which means we will be sending you two packages over the months ahead, the first with your reward sans DVD, and the second package a DVD when it's ready. We just feel like everyone on this email has been so patient that we don't want to make you wait any longer. So bobble heads, t-shirts, books and posters etc will be sent out soon! I may email each of you directly to make sure your addresses are current--so expect to hear from me soon.

INTERNATIONAL THEATRICAL PREMIERE(S) 

If you happen to be in France in mid-November and also in mid-December, please let us know and we'll give you details on our theatrical Premieres in Paris, Lyon, Strasbourg, etc.
