Totes, Aprons, and other El Poblano Updates

Update #7 · Oct 13, 2012 · 2 comments

Happy Harvest time!

Its been a great joy to meet so many of your when picking up your share of the fall harvest. We hope you've enjoyed cooking and eating the fresh vegetables grown at El Poblano Farm. We had a delicious harvest of colorful tomatoes, an exuberance of squash blossoms, zesty papalo, sweet tomatillos, crisp corn, and much much more!

If you haven't yet answered the survey or aren't able to pick up your veggies, just let us know how we can accommodate.

We just picked up the awesome tote bags (printed by our friends at Neighborhoodies)! Your prospective orders of tote bags, aprons, seeds, pickled veggies and postcards will be shipped out and should be arriving in the 1-2 weeks. Sorry for any delay, everyone should have there goodies by the end of October!

Some of you have already been asking about how to join El Poblanos CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). We will be sending out more information in the next few months on how you can receive weekly harvests from El Poblano next season to cook delicious, unique, and affordable meals with our New York City organically grown vegetables.

El Poblano Farm had the huge honor of being featured in the October 1st issue of the New Yorker Magazine in "Talk of the Town"- check it out! http://www.newyorker.com/talk/2012/10/01/121001ta_talk_wilkinson

We want to thank you for the enormous help in reaching a huge milestone of running a successful Kickstarter campaign. As a new farm in our third season, we still have a lot of growing to do but we feel much more supported with all of you as a part of our farm community.

Muchisimas Gracias,

El Poblano Farm

1K Left in the Race!

Update #5 · Aug 6, 2012 · comment

Farm Fans!

We are at the final push to the finish and couldn't have done it without all of you, but the race is not over yet!

We have less than 2 days left on our Kickstarter campaign and an exciting road ahead to get to full farming capacity. Can you help us raise our last $1k to help cover land rental costs for our next planting season?

If you're interested in participating in the local farming journey with us, here are some things you can do to help in the next 2 DAYS:

• Back the project and receive a cool tote, apron, and/or fresh farm vegetables
• Email 5 friends and ask them to back the project
• Share a link to one of the exciting blogs/articles that we have been featured in:

We can't thank you enough for the support you have given and for your help spreading the word.

Mil de gracias!

Papalo is growing in Popularity- Thanks to You!

Update #4 · Jul 26, 2012 · comment

There are no words to say how thankful we are to all of our backers- WITH ALL YOUR HELP, WE REACHED OUR INITIAL GOAL! Muchisimas gracias!!!

What's next? We have two more amazing weeks on Kickstarter and a growing community behind us. As you can imagine, there are countless ways for us to grow the farm. By surpassing our goal and raising $8,000, we will be able to secure our land lease for next year as well as purchase a sturdy new tent for our farm stand. We know that we can continue to exceed our goal with the great support from others like you!

There are still many great rewards available like the El Poblano Apron, our popular totebag, and our delicious vegetables and herbs that you can pick up freshly picked at one of our farm stands in New York City.

Thank you to all of our amazing friends, old and new, we are so uplifted by your support.

Thank you for the great article by Zak Stone in GOOD Magazine. One day everyone will know what Papalo is!

Keep spreading the word and come visit us on the farm or at the market soon!

Locally Yours,

The El Poblano Farm Team
