Now that we got your attention…

This is our proposal for our full-length feature film, EATEN, of the growing genre of zombie horror.  Yes, we’re fans of The Walking Dead, get really excited when they play Thriller on the radio, play Resident Evil until we fall asleep, and our favorite holiday is Halloween.  We’re also passionate about making good movies, so this wasn’t a hard one for us to figure out … WE WANT TO MAKE A ZOMBIE MOVIE!  But a good one.  We respect the genre and understand it isn’t for everyone, so we want to make sure that even those who would be caught dead before watching an episode of The Walking Dead would like it (no pun intended … ok, totally intended).

So we need your help.  If you liked the video clip above, you already know we have a ridiculously talented crew behind our projects, and EATEN will be no exception.  Help us today! 

Our story follows 6 American tourists, who while on vacation in the Caribbean, get lost in a rain forest and end up discovering an ancient civilization of ZOMBIES.  The actual film WILL NOT contain the comedic tone the video proposal has.  It will have humor but not in that tone.

Using what is becoming a subgenre in horror films (typically with ghost stories), our film will be shot “found footage” style.

Why $25,000?

We created an algorithm based on quantum mathematics, applied statistics, and linear algebra that multiplies the square root of Pi and divides it by the number of hair gel bottles used by the cast of Jersey Shore per month … alright, we didn’t. But coming up with the budget wasn’t easy.  Good zombie makeup can be a bit expensive, plus we want to shoot on location in the Caribbean, so that, along with permits, equipment, travel, lodging, etc. adds up to (drumroll, please) $25,000.  Actually, it adds up to a whole lot more, but we’re emptying out our bank accounts for this one.  So with that and the $25,000 we’re raising via Kickstarter, we’ll be able to make a quality zombie movie.    

How do I redeem my pledge’s incentives?

Once we successfully reach our goal, we will contact all backers via email and ask for their contact information so we can call and/or mail your incentives.

So for the RINGTONE PLEDGE you’ll be calling me. What will you do with my number after that?

We’ll sell it to the highest bidder and finance EATEN 2 with it!!  Kidding.  We promise to never (EVER!) call you again.  And we won’t give it to a-n-y-o-n-e.  We’ll even delete the email you sent us with your number.  We like keeping our Inbox clean, anyways…

Can I increase my pledge once it has been made?

You certainly can and may we suggest increasing it by A LOT?!  Or by a little – every penny counts!  Here’s how you can increase your pledge – go to Kickstarter and sign in.  If you go to our campaign page, you’ll notice the green “Back This Project” button has been replaced with a blue “Manage Your Donation” button.  Click it and you can enter a new amount, or choose a new incentive.

What if you don’t reach your goal?

What? Puhleeeeze, have a little more faith!  But if you must know … unless we reach our goal, Kickstarter will a) not charge your credit card and b) not give us one cent of the money pledged.  So, if we don’t reach our goal, we’ll probably either go work at the local Domino’s Pizza and make some mean pepperoni pies, or get into corporate video production … you know … the video equivalent of elevator music?  PLEASE DON’T LET THAT HAPPEN.

And what if you exceed it?

See – that’s a much better question. Exceeding our goal would allow us to make an even better movie, so we’re definitely hoping to surpass it.  But we don’t want to be greedy either.
