Seth Faergolzia (Dufus) is completing a new album to be released in April called Tin Wood Soldier. A second album will accompany it.

Since the completion of Dufus, Seth Faergolzia's 13 year long musical project, Seth has been spending his time working several pursuits. In addition to frequently touring Europe and the US as a solo musician, Seth has been rehearsing a new ensemble of 15 people, AKA the 23 Psaegz, who were originally recruited to perform his epic rock opera, incidentally named "23 Psaegz." Though the rock opera is still a work-in-progress, Seth has continued to write new songs and experiment with electronics and sequencing. Currently, there are two albums nearing completion: Tin Wood Soldier and Friend Producers. Both will be released in April 2012.
"Tin Wood Soldier" melds Seth's various projects into an all encompassing conglomeration of work. Featuring Seth's experiments in electronics and lyric/song-writing that borders on hip-hop, the album also showcases the 23 Psaegz, a huge band of singers and instrumentalists headed by Seth on guitar, voice and kick drum, including a mini-choir and players of bass guitar, upright bass, tuba, sax, flute, trumpet, electric guitar, banjo, drums, piano, mandolin, and a number of "found metal" percussion pieces.
In addition to "Tin Wood Soldier," Seth has pieced together a side project with a numerous musicians and recording artists, and he has dubbed the result "Friend Producers." The project constitutes an album's worth of songs written by Seth, which have been brazenly handed over to the capable hands of 17 talented folks to reshape and add ideas. Collaborators include producers from New York City, Rochester, Sweeden, Ithaca, Germany and California, all of various levels from lo-fi to the highest fidelity. "Friend Producers" will be released alongside "Tin Wood Soldier," and if the funding reaches past our Kickstarter goal, the funds will be directly applied to its reproduction.
Seth has been a DIY musician for over 15 years, and has handled most of his own booking, promotion, management and album releases (though he's had some help from such friends and labels such as ROIR, NYC and Ironman Records, UK), and as the mastermind behind Dufus, possibly the most creative and well-loved underground band in the Anti-folk/Freakfolk communities of New York City -- along with a likewise respected solo career, stacking up more than 10 albums and playing in over 20 countries with such acts as The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Jeffrey Lewis, Regina Spektor, The Moldy Peaches, Animal Collective & others, Seth’s music remains a wonder to the listenful.
This kickstarter campaign was created in order to acquire funds to cover recording, mixing, mastering and reproduction costs. If the project exceeds its goals, the extra funds will be used to cover publicity costs. Donors will receive unreleased tracks, alternate mixes and behind-the-scenes access to information regarding the production of the album and the progress toward its completion.
