Have you ever seen someone on the street who is so dirty, drunk or almost “untouchable” that you wanted to step away walk on the other side of the street.
2000 years ago, Jesus told a parable about a man who was traveling from one town to another. On the way, he was attacked by robbers. They took everything from him, including his clothes, and beat him almost to death.
A Priest came by the same way, and when he saw the man, he walked on the other side of the street. A priest! A pastor! A leader that supposedly cared for the community. Someone that taught the word of God on a daily basis. But he turned a blind eye to a half dead man.
A few minutes later a Levite passed by and chose to step away and walk on the other side of the street as well. A Levite, of a good family. He served in God’s Temple regularly, and would have come to the Holy place where the Spirit of God was. He also could not stand the sight and closed his eyes to the bloody and wounded man and just walked.
Now a Samaritan was also going the same way, and his heart, after seeing this man in pain was filled with compassion and he could not ignore this display . Of an unwanted country, and despised by everyone himself, the Samaritan took the wounded man, careless of the blood, dirtiness and smell. Took him to the nearest hospital and even paid for his medical bills.
Like the hurting man, we believe that there is a generation that has been forgotten and ignored. They are hurting and hopeless. Left to die on the side of the road. Most people, parents, schools, churches, choose to dismiss them and Ignore the pain, but God desires for us to be filled with compassion for this Generation.
Exiting the Fall has been called to minister to this generation. By creating an EP called Parables, we hope to reach this group of people with stories of hope and salvation. Stories that continue to change our lives, and that we strongly believe can start changing others too. As we strive and struggle to be closer to God through this album, we hope that it it will be a voice bringing the Words of Jesus closer to those who are also, so earnestly seeking!
We have been in the studio for the past month working on this project, and we need your help to bring it to completion. With each donation you will get an incentive as a thanks from the band. By giving to us, you will not only be helping us record the album that each one of us has spilled our hearts into, but you’ll be helping the Kingdom of God spread to places where people have lost hope, where people have given up. Exiting the Fall is a Post-hardcore band from Beverly, MA who's only goal is to honor and glorify Jesus Christ through their music and lives. These five individuals strive to show the love of Jesus Christ to this lost and hopeless generation while playing the music they love. In the Summer of 2009, they released their first EP, Beyond the Experience. Exiting the Fall is now recording their second EP called "Parables" consisting of 7 songs about the stories Jesus told, stories that continue to change our lives and that hopefully will change your too.
