A Look Inside: The Mummy's Curse
Happy Thursday, Racers! We'll be using our Thursdays during the project to give you a deeper look inside one of the aspects of the board game -- and because you're our true believers and early adopters, we also want you to get a chance to really look at the game's fantastic art! Today, we talk about your mummy.
One of the biggest challenges your Centurion will face on the Race to Adventure is the Mummy's Curse. Grab your trusty Lightning Gun and journey to Egypt to claim your stamp -- but there, the mummy-king Khayu-Khet will lay his curse upon you. While cursed, you can move, but you can't complete missions, collect stamps, or win the game.
But you're a member of the Century Club, and you know people who can cure such a thing! Typically, this is as "simple" as making your way back to the bottom floor of the Empire State Building, where the Century Club's medical facility has what you need to recover your health.
But when the shadows rise, so does the difficulty! When Shadow Brasil is in play, the Century Club falls into shadow, and modern science simply isn't enough to shake the curse. Instead, you'll have to venture into the heart of the Amazon, and negotiate with the sometimes-nefarious Baroness Blackheart, Mistress of Alchemy, for the antidote.
The way to Shadow Brasil won't be easy, though, because this shadow side location includes barriers -- edges of the card you can't cross without the aid of a jet pack or zeppelin ride! In the case of Shadow Brasil, two sides are closed off, making the journey to find a cure more treacherous than ever.
